Hi all,

A friend knows of a granada 2.9 cosworth v6 Lreg thats going to be scrapped as its an mot failure, i was wondering if the diff was a lsd in which case i would have the whole rear end including disc brakes for my 2b.

Is it worth the time/effort?

thanks

Jim I know the diff housings are different sizes, but are the subframes identical?

Could you use the whole shooting match?

The diff is almost certainly an LSD.....check by jacking both wheels off the ground & turning one of them. The other one will turn the same way if its LSD, or opposite if its not. Worth a look I would have thought Kenton....

Cheers, Bob

Problem is even if the sub frame fits, unless the hubs are the same fittings as the Sierra then you are restricted to 5 stud wheels so do you now use the granddad front uprights?

I think (& will stand corrected if wrong) that the Grandad sub frame is wider than the sierra one.

The Sierra rear track is listed as 1468 mm

The Granada rear track is listed as 1492 mm

= 24 mm difference (12 mm per side further out)

This is when fitted with standard offset wheels.

The Cosworth however will inevitably have a different offset on its standard wheels, so maybe it messes the figures up, other wheels will mean a recalculation is on the cards !

I have a Granada rear axle fitted in my DOHC 2B and it fits with no visible problems .. still building though.

maybe this helps .. maybe it doesnt ... maybe it confuses the issue ... sorry !
