You're better off getting one from a Prop specialist. You'll get a better prop for around the same money... (or maybe less)

I know Chris? (guy who kept busting gearboxes) has just got one from somewhere so maybe he can help. There are a few of them around.

Doc,

I just got a new one made for my S7 in Team Valley Geordieland. It's a great job, next day service. £110 + VAT. I could get you a discount on that. They need the distance between your Diff Flange face and the oil seal on the back of the gearbox.

I'll give you a hand by delivering it if you like.

Commercial Propshafts, Team Valley, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. for the record Jim, nice bloke. Laughed at the sight of my old prop. and threw it in the bin. It's a busy workshop and my S7 710mm prop. looked like a toy next to the truck and JCB jobs waiting for collection.

The prop specialists is looking the best bet then, the lolocost prop is £120 plus 15 delivery, so the specialst one is slightly cheaper and hopefully better :) still a fair bit of money so I may have to ask to borrow some from dad

Steve, thanks for the kind offer of delivery, there'd definately be lots of tea and biscuits waiting for you :)

I'll measure it tomorrow morning with another pair of hands

Hi Doc,

Take care measuring the distance from the face of your Diff to the tip of the gearbox. I guess it's a bit tricky pushing a tape down the tunnel? Have you removed the old diff yet?

Steve

Look at that!

What a cracker. :D

A friend came over to lend a hand and I think we've measured it at about 700mm but on the lolocost site it lists 2 imput shaft sizes, 30 or 35 (most common) but I havn't taken the prop shaft off to measure that yet, is their any other details I need to get?

Doc,

When can you get your propshaft off the car? I think I'd hand that over to them just so there's no mistakes. I am thinking about going to the MotorHome show at York Race Track next Saturday. What gearbox have you got?

The propshaft is now off :) and your picture looks a fair bit better than mine does at the moment.

If you are going to the show next saturday I could meet you there to hand it over? If not I could drive across to you with it in the clio, either on the weekend or most nights in the week (I dont get out much  ) so a road trip with a few mates could be fun :D, whichevers easiest for you?
