  1. You lot have no imagination, with a little bit of modification i now have a seat adjustable enough for the Janes little legs and a rear impact absorbsion devise
  2. All info greatly recieved, I bought a set of RHE recaro type seats and they did not fit, then had a look at a set of very thin fibreglass seats for a Lotus Elise on e-bay and whilst they fitted they were a fibreglass shell with thin rubber stuck on with double sided tape. I could fit in them but the missis would find it a stuggle ( went for £300 a pair) I will build the car with the plywood from RHE and when i eventually pass the SVA new seats will be my treat. Unless a bargin comes up.
  3. Terry i agree, it was one of those "i wounder if" moments and i new it would spark some interest and comments. My main problem is still that the series 3 is so small and the passenger side is an inch or so narrower than the drivers.
  4. Seat belts in my car are fixed to the car not the seats. A lot of cars that i have seen at the shows have the basic seats as provided by RHE and the Locost cars. So what your saying is fit seats from a donor car or from after market suppliers.
  5. Have you seen the bits of plywood that come with the series 3? in my car ( still building) i have reinforced the coach bolts with large plates inside and square tube outside then bolted through the floor in to a subframe that is bolted to the gearbox support at the front and a rear cross beam. It was to this substantial construction i was going to fit the chairs. The back of the RHE supplied seats is just held on to the base with some plastic hinges and rests on the seat support cross bar, with the base rigidly fixed the seat backs fold a little forward to slot hood or side screens behind, it is the seat belt that secures you in the car. Now this is where your experiences come in, I have looked through the SVA regs and it says nothing about the seat construction but does show a recomended seat attachment rail (looks like the stuff aircraft seats are attached to) at this stage i just intend to use the stuff supplied by RHE more expensive seats will come later on if this method fails. Has anyone had SVA troubles to do with their seats?
  6. I spent yesterday fiddling with the bonnet and it is a cr*p fit, however it is now fitted with the 4 SVA rubber catches and my solution to the gap between bonnet and engine bay is the wing pipeing that came with the kit for the swept wings which i will run down both sides from cockpit (under the removable scuttle) to nosecone ( thus the thread in "Wanted") The nosecone is now about 25mm further forward than RHE intended but fits well and looks O.K.

    Bonnet Bulge

Its just a bulge. Cut a hole a little smaller than the bulge over the offending part of the inlet manifold and add the bulge over the top.
  8. Saw these and thought with a bit of modification it could work.... However they are to wide for the series 3 Click on this link to go to Argos.co.uk http://www.argos.co.uk/ProductDisplayTRK01...tNumber=6210832 to see 'The Car Seat' Contemporary Leather-Faced Manager's Chair. (cat no. 6210832) £89.99*.

    Number Plate

I want to keep the original number that came with the donor is this possible?
  10. Thanks Mitch i'll order some tommorow.
  11. Thank you gents.. Woolies have the closest but not exact. Any one have some Swept wing trim from a series 3 in the garage that they can sell to me?
  12. I need 160cm of the swept wing pipeing for the series 3. It is about 5mm diameter hollow tube with 50mm of flat.

    Cycle Engine Hood

I,m just in the process of destroying the Galaxy's auto box so could i fit the VR6 to a type 9?????
  15. Look like under cover hunt saboteurs to me. Put up a smoke screen to hide the fox, then feed the hounds so they are not interested.
  16. Is this another one of those issues to do with the date of the donor or the date of registration. My donor car would have self park but would not have the park setting that drops the blades a little lower.
  17. Once they are awake I will try and get some full frame pics and some interiors. Suede roof lineing, leather and carbon details, much better inside than the DB9 which felt a bit 60's retro. But if you thro the keys at me......
  18. He must keep this for ever, and I will become his best friend..............
  19. I snuck round while they were asleep....
  20. I do huge milage just picking my daughter up from her mums every couple of weeks and the big big thing after you get over the " this is fun in a fast car" is the fuel bill. £400 a month in the faster cars or bigger cars that i have had, soon decided that a diesel was the best...150bhp in a diesel is great fun...IMHO.
  21. I made Warren drop me off at the pub after a blat. same route as we went andy. He is not at home now but i will get some pics tomorrow and post. It's Pre Production i.e you can buy one in August/September.....if you sell the kids, house all our cars....boots big enough for a small tent.
  22. First off, thanks andy for a great blast in an amazing sounding car. I am planning more time off to work on mine but in this weather i just want to drive one. Well there i was blipping the throttle of a pre production Aston Martin Vantage when Rizla turned up as promised for a blat round the back of Chelmsford, we drooled over the Aston for a while, then rattled the windows of the neigbours, the exhuast baffles open above 4000rpm. my boys didn't know which way to look, Black Aston growling or Yellow VortX Screaming. Andys gone back know and i'm hopeing that Warren comes back with the Aston so i can blag a ride in another fast car that belongs to someone else..One day my car will be on the road. One day.
  23. Put a Morgan Aero8 badge on it
  24. Rizla if you get near Chelmsford come and show me what the VortX is all about 07768 310451 CM1 6YP
