  1. As title states, on the look out for some untouched front hubs! Thanks
  2. Anyone know if you have to have the headlights a certain height? Doing the wishbone conversion and thinking of lowering them a tad..
  3. Does any one know what type connection i need for the speedo cable for a type 9 gearbox? Trying to get a speedo cable made up for a vdo gauge... Cheers!

    Running Rich

Don't say that! lol I've just put swapped my bike carbs for some twin 45's. I have noticed mine running a little rich too, it's not on the road yet, but when running it in the garage, plant the accelerator and it will spit before it picks up. Will be booking in for a rolling road once I've run the engine in as it's a new head and camshaft. If you change your mind with about the bike carbs I took off some Zx6r bike carbs, along with the pinto manifold - looking for £100...
  5. Just though, my end pipe out the back of the box is a lot smaller than yours and has an immediate angle so the bracket won't sit right! Back to the start... Lol
  6. Perfect, that looks to be the one I'm after...although fitting to the 2b might not be so easy! What did you use for the webbing?
  7. Cheers Richard. This is what I'm after! http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=43_24&product_id=643&car=43 Just wondering this will allow enough movement from the exhaust? I'll post a couple of pictures of what I've got at the moment. Just want to keep it as clean looking as possible..
  8. How have people fit their exhausts to the body? I've just had delivered a Fuel exhaust bike can, which I am very impressed with the quality and the deep tone it makes, my only concern is fitting. The car had the standard Sierra manifold down into the two piped exhaust into the can and secured with rubber bobbins from the exhaust guard. I've now got a 4 into 1 manifold with a 2" stainless pipe into the can, I just need some ideas fixing it! I obviously need to take into account the engine movement and allow the exhaust to 'wobble'.... Hellllpp .. Haha Thanks
  9. As the title, I've got a pair of 45 dcoe's with very little space between the trumpet and chassis - was hoping for a nice shiny k&n but room does not allow! Also, I'm in the market for an exhaust can, I've settled on the idea of a bike can for the sleek and subtle look. Thanks
  10. I've managed to alter the plate the servo it mounted on, so I've got about an inch clearance. I'm interested in ditching the servo though timbo! Is it literally a straight swap for the fiat cylinder?
  11. Will the brake servo be effected by the heat from the exhaust manifold being this close? Is there a rubber diaphragm inside? Cheers
  12. Hi all, As the title states, anyone living in or around Bracknell/Berkshire, i could massively do with a little help! I'm on the last hurdle before getting the car out this summer, i brought the hood November last year, since then I've completely gutted it, and re-built it with some pride. Unfortunately mine and my fathers knowledge stops at the electrical part! It's a 2.0 lt's Pinto with 45 webers, the gauges are VDO out of a lotus eclat. We've wired the engine loom so we know it runs, it's just the final few wires. I know someone with a bit of experience would probably finish it off within the day but it's taken me a lot longer than it needs to! We've got all the tools and materials to finish, just need the help! So for a few beer tokens and all the tea you could drink, i would massively appreciate the help! Many thanks! Simon
  13. I will contact in the near future, once the car is back on the road!!
  14. Has anyone got or can anyone help with a diagram of their cooling system on a 2.0 pinto including an expansion tank? At the moment I've got the main rad pipes going into the water pump and through to the inlet manifold, the other pipe into the thermostat. The overflow from the rad going into the top of the expansion tank, then from the bottom of the expansion into the other side of the thermostat. Do I need a pressure cap on the rad, or just something to cap it off? Many thanks Simon
  15. Is the distributor still available?
  16. 2 Ltr 205 Pinto Big Valve Head RL31 Cam 45 Weber's Wiring left to do, should be on the road end of May (fingers crossed)

    Gauges

For some reason I'm unable to send a pm! They look to be what i'm after, would you mind posting a couple pics up for me? Or try private messaging me? Thanks Simon

    Gauges

This is definitely the sort of thing i'm after. I just don't want to spend £££'s, it's shocking how much a new set of gauges actually are!! I never realised the rev counter had to match, that's good to know!! Thanks! Like i said the chap who owned the car previous to me installed the smiths. One question i have is about the speedo pick up, I've found the magnets glued to the prop shaft flange, will this work for other speedometer's? Or will i find the earlier speedo's need to be run from the gearbox?

    Gauges

I'm after a set of classic looking gauges, I've got some Smith Telemetrix gauges already, but it's not the look i'm after, so would be interested in a swap deal, or cash. Link to the gauges I have.. http://www.caigauge.com/page36.html However there may be a cheaper option for me if anyone can recommend someone that can alter the gauges i have? I'm after the black face, white number and red pin... Thanks Simon
  20. Just been out to measure, they're all 10mm's. For 4x pipes including the unions is £24.95 delivered. I'm happy with that and will get them on order! Cheers
  21. Hi, I'm going to replace the copper brake pipes on the car, the ones installed at the moment are all different lengths, far too long for what they need to be. Looks a mess! It's all standard Sierra bits, the brake servo is standard. I'm about to order some off brakepipes2go.co.uk - they seem reasonably priced. They require lengths which I can work out, but it's the connectors that have stumped me, do I need unf unions or metric to fit? Thanks in advance
  22. Thanks for the replies. I think I've spotted a couple of magnets glued to the prop shaft flange, so I'll investigate today. Weather like today only makes me want the car ready sooner!!
  23. If not the gearbox, where does an electronic speedo pick up its speed pulse from?
  24. I believe it is the standard sierra arrangement...
