  1. Im not far off from startup to be honest, I dont think Ill have any issues where I plan on mounting the IACV but thought I would ask the question incase I missed something obvious The reason why I want an iacv is to make tickover smoother
  2. Hi, I purchased a remote IACV mount from Kitspares (https://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1264) and am working out where to mount it. GBS say there is no specific place but suggested near the swirl pot/foot well - problem is there isn't enough room. I was thinking about mounting it at the front of the car, in front of the plenum highlighted. Before I get the drill out....am I going to be fowling anything? I don't think I will be but my build isn't complete yet. What's peoples opinions? I am assuming location doesn't make much difference. Thanks, Dan
  3. Ahhhh, I do have the air sensor already from emerald and its plugged into plenum - I thought MAP was something different though?
  4. Emerald k6 with gbs plenum, Im also running a remote iacv (although not quite ready for first start yet). The gbs plenum has the connector in it to connect iacv up.
  5. Ill definately be using TPS - sounds like I dont need MAP, thanks
  6. Morning, may be a daft one but I have 2.0 Zetec - does it come with a MAP sensor as standard? Im doing a lot of research on the different sensors used and its all interesting stuff and I am learning a lot but this one has me puzzled. I cant see any reference to one on any of the blogs I have been reading or on the forum here. Thanks, Dan
  7. Brumster your definately onto something, thanks for the suggestion. Ill need to do some careful measurements for the bracket at the rear (should th CAT fall off...) but a quick look it seems doable and simple.
  8. Interesting thought brumster, hadnt even considered that. I was thinking Ill probably end up buying the same part again post IVA to decat. Ill do some digging
  9. Definately doesnt have one, description on site says so and it has no cat written on it, Ill get boxing and return it. Thanks
  10. Thanks - thought as much. Meh good job I kept the packaging
  11. Hi guys, Ive purchased an exhaust from GBS and I stupidly didnt check to see if it has a CAT. Now I realise it doesnt... So, 2004 crate Zetec engine and car will be registered on new plate - do I require a CAT to pass the IVA? I strongly suspect I do but would like to confirm. Thanks, Dan
  12. Hi femster is this still up for grabs? If so I would be interested.
  13. Definitely Mark, I would only need the flywheel though if that's ok, is it the 2.0 or 1.8? How much and are you ok posting or collection only?
  14. Hi Allan, hope you are well? I took it to a place in Stockton round the corner from work - they told me it was in pristine condition already, which was great . EazyGears I think they were called. I'll check the crank sensor, thanks.
  15. Thanks for the offer its appreciated, just a tad too far for me to travel I think.
  16. I wish, been looking today and can't seem to find any. Short of running around and asking on site, none have answered the phone or have anything listed online.
  17. Hi, I'm trying to source either a 2.0 or 1.8 Zetec flywheel to fit a blacktop if anyone has one for sale? Thanks, Daniel
  18. Thanks, that's good to know.
  19. Before I bite the bullet, does anyone know if this will fit? Its for the ST170, which I believe is a Duratec and I have a Zetec blacktop: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-Dual-Mass-Flywheel-DMF-for-Clutch-415025810-LuK-1310280-3S4Y6477AA-/231503407278
  20. Tractor - MT75, it's all ready to go (hopefully!) I've got the extended pin from Gbs along with the release bearing and spigot bearing and it's been refurbed as new.
  21. Thanks guys, a frustrating day for me but glad I got to the bottom of it with your help. Yep, it was a crate engine. More stuff for me to add to the list but it will have to wait as funds are tight. Plenty of other tinkering to do though
  22. frustrating isn't the word, OK thanks.
  23. hmm. I was thinking that, never done this before but I was thinking as its a crate engine it would be good to go. Unfortunately it didnt come with a clutch already, might take a wonder out. Thanks.
  24. hmmm so maybe I am not going mad then? Its the one that came with the engine, bought back in December I just havent had change to look at it properly yet.
  25. Afternoon, I'm trying to work out which clutch I need to use with my crate 2.0 Zetec Blacktop as it didnt come with one. The engine doesnt have any markings on it where they should be, but it does have a product code on the CAM cover which is 254G-6L084 and I think it was manufacturered in 1999 if I use the code "XS7G-FA", which is the only code I can see stamped on the block. Altough, there is a bit 05 and a welsh dragon on the sticker...so I am assuming it could be 2005. Anyway, the clutch kit I have purchased is for an 04 2.0 Focus and its 228mm, too big. I think I need a 180mm clutch if I look at the flywheel, but all of the onces I see listed are either 220mm or 228\230mm for the 1.8 and 2.0 Focus. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I am assuming that I have the 2.0 flywheel fitted, as there is a marking on it "DA 258944 20". Attached is a picture and the diameters, roughly. Hopefully I am doing something daft... Thanks, Daniel
