  1. Hi Everyone,

I want to give Rhocar folks first dibs at my camper van, as it would make an ideal support vehicle/festival vehicle.

It's a Toyota Regius Windtourer which was professionally converted by Wellhouse (award winning outfit near Huddersfield) in August 2013, from a July 2000 registered Japanese base vehicle. It's basically a T5 sized camper with the following:

Automatic Transmission, 4WD, 2.7litre Toyota petrol engine (same engine as Land Cruiser etc.) with LPG conversion by Wellhouse. This means cost per mile on a par with a T5 diesel but no NOx, SOx emissions and clean as far as London environs are concerned. It's got a bit over 70000km on the clock (from 35000 when I bought it)

Aircon, parking/reverse warning, UK SONY stereo & CDPlayer.

    Double rockn'roll bed.

Pop-up roof with single bed space

Sink & Drainer with cold water plumbing & water pump

2 ring Smev hob burning Camping gaz

    Fridge

    Both front seats swivel 180deg.

    Leather upholstery.

Webasto cabin heater (uses petrol from main fuel tank to keep you toastie warm at the wrong end of April.

    Cat 1 Alarm

    70w solar panel plus hook-up

    Towbar (fitted but never used).

No built-in shower or toilet but you can have the porta potty that came with it (unused)

I have to put a price on this forum so I will say £18000.

If anyone registers an interest then I'll upload some photographs. Thank you for looking.

  2. I put a screen and wipers on a couple of years ago. Went for mini system on eBay as GBS were a bit pricey. It wasn't a quick job, hints on this blog were very helpful but beware your screen position may be unique to your car so there's a lot of trial and error positioning the wipers themselves and they had to be cut to size. Used a basic CBS washer bottle kit which was the easier part, but measure up your space for the bottle first as there are size options. The elation at getting an MOT pass was pathetically worth it though, best of luck !

If you opt to remove screen for a quick hit MOT don't forget to mount your wing mirrors somewhere.

  4. Thanks to Andi for the brilliantly planned route and thanks to Kerry for the awesome pub venue. Sorry we can't stick around for the Barrie, hope you enjoy yourselves !

  5. Apologies, I can't make next week as we are on hols in Florence.

Hope to make Bull's Head in July, at least it's far enough to warm up the Pinto !

If anyone's cruising in Leics. over the weekend please drop in on St Botolph's Festival at Ratcliffe on the Wreake Saturday 11am to 3pm for refreshments, although I know a lot of you are heading to Wales so hope you can make the most of the weather.

  6. Salut Olivier,

I found some side doors for my zero on eBay last year for less than half the cost with GBS. They would probably work on a 2B but an expert is welcome to contradict me. I can find the link for you if you're interested. Some of the local owners here are proud of their bricolage efforts too.

    Bonne chance

  7. Very exciting. When I had a think about this last year I reckoned putting Tesla gubbins on was going to double the weight , so I look forward to what they'll pull together at Boughton. Could be a route to tax free hobby motoring !
