  1. I've got some GT85, worth a try!!
  2. Hi Me again, seem to be asking a lot of questions at the moment. Last couple of trips ive noticed a slight vibration when turning right both at slow and high speed am I right in thinking wheel bearing, car has only done 6500 miles and all parts were new (it's a super spec). Mot is due in about 6wks. Also how do you stop creaky suspension
  3. Hmmm maybe one for the winter then or just put up with it
  4. I did see the filler pipe on the super spec is a couple of CV boots!! Was it easy to change Alan as it looks a bit tight and was it just standard size fuel pipe?
  5. Thanks everyone, glad I'm not alone. Wanderer I do take bung out and it helps a bit. The question was mainly because ive read somewhere that the breather pipe is better above the tank level hence most modern cars have a filler neck with the vent connecting back to the neck. Ive never had do fill it from empty but it takes about 10 mins (or thats how long it seems) to get about £25 in it
  6. Hi My super spec is a real pain to full up, the pumps constantly click off. I have been told by builder to remove the bung he fitted in the breather pipe and this helps a bit. My question is should the breather pipe be higher than the tank or lower? Mine is underneath the spare wheel at the moment.
  7. It seemed he kept really good notes up till the wiring then its a bit vague, I think that was when they moved from the midlands down to cornwall and I think the car stood for a while with no work being done because he mentions about having to try and remember where he was upto with the wiring!! There is a diagram of the control unit on the website so heres hoping he used that as a base All part of the fun!!
  8. Yeah Ive realized that the diagram is of limited use but at least it gives me some of the dashboard connections and a good basis to investigate some of it, still cant work out the damn wiper stalk though, need to get it sorted as the washer is an mot item!!!. Ive emailed car builder solutions to see if anymore info can be supplied regarding the module
  9. Well I have found out what the 12v module is , its this from car builder solutions www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/cbs-12-circuit-wiring-module I saw this under bonnet and assumed it came from RH, only when reading his build notes did I come across mention of using a 12v module and hey presto found it and theres a wiring diagram as well I might email them and see if there were any other install instructions
  10. Dont think yours is standard Andy, I have connections on 1,2,6,7,8 and I have no "park" facility with my wipers, I have to manually stop then at bottom of screen. If your wiring diagram is just about same as mine (as discussed) then you can see the connections on it from RH. May go down your route with the focus stalks and cowl!!
  11. Thanks Al, Dont suppose you know which pins on the stalk its connected to, I think its the wiring as I said before the stalk wiring looks a bit dubious. Ive got some new plugs and connectors coming so will re make all the connections from stalks
  12. Yeah its the carbon fibre effect one, the problem is that the builder looks to have cut the bottom inch or so off for some reason and the 2 bits are now held together with gaffer tape
  13. Some people on older posts say focus mk1 also. Have you got the rover stalks Andy, be interested if yours does fit
  14. Hi Just noticed my washer isn't working, not sure if its the pump or the wiring on the stalk. Does anyone know what pins are for the washer on a super spec, the wiper/washer stalk has 5 wires going to it. Also will the pump be in or on the bottle, my bottle is underneath the battery tray!!
  15. Hi Does anyone know what sort of steering column cowl/cover would fit a super spec or if you can still get the original ones, mines a bit tatty and cracked in a few places,
  16. Just watched the original build video and some of the elecrics make a but more sense, I thought it was all 1 loom, didn't realize the engine loom was separate and that the 2 or 3 large white blocks are from the stalks
  17. Thanks Andy, Alan, I think you did send me the MEMS stuff Alan, I admit I havent found any "12V" module either it was just something I found in his notes , see photo
  18. Hi all Im currently delving into the murky depths of my super spec wiring, I have to thank Alan Richey for allowing me to copy his wiring diagram. I have also the original car builders notes but I know he found it a struggle and I think him moving house in the middle of the build have slightly muddied the waters regarding his notes. He talks about a "12v wiring module" which looks to have 20 connections, does this ring a bell with anyone? To be blunt its a bit of a dogs dinner with wires just "pushed" into connectors then covered with some black gunk to keep them in place but a lot of it is beginning to come apart the more I play with the electrics. I have since been browsing through old posts on here and I have found mention of an "issue 5" diagram (Alans is original issue) and a 6 page addendum. I have also bought an escort haynes manual just to help with the dash wiring. So after this ramble, Im looking for the latest version of the wiring diagram (issue 5) and if this 6 page document exists Graeme.
  19. As usual thanks Al, my fronts are wound up about an inch at the moment (haven't checked rears), I was only thinking about it as I think at last MOT there were a couple of advisories regarding suspension but it may only be bushes worn or something, will check mot certificate. Are the bushes an easy change and will i still need to compress the springs if changing just bushes. Another thing i noticed are the 4 mounting holes in the bottom wishbone(if thats the right terminology!!) where are yours fixed? mine are in the 2nd from the car (so 3rd from wheel). Ive only just got a secondhand trolley jack and axle stands so going to have a poke around underneath and get wheels off for first time
  20. Thanks nick, never thought of doing it in 2 half, easy job for a fledgling mechanic?
  21. Hi all Just wondering how many "threads" or inches of thread are visable on people using the zeemeride suspension. I know I probably need to change them out, Ive already got a quote of £400 from dampertech but its a bit steep to sneak past the missus at the moment. Just looking for a rough guide to see how mine compare.
  22. It looked VERY nice, 2.9 auto as well so very smooth
  23. Nice meet up with a few fellow kit car enthusiasts for a blast across Dartmoor, cars were a Royal Sabre (Granada engine and running gear), Cobra tribute (BMW Z3, straight body swap) a Quantum Extreme and my little RH Super Spec. A Caterham popped in to say hello for a bit as well. Roads weren't as quiet as we thought they would be what with the Royal Wedding, Devon County Show and Exeter Chiefs all happening . But it was a good day out
  24. I'm another one for jumping in head first and thinking "oh yeah I know what that is", has cost me a pretty penny over the years. Thing is I still do it sometimes
