  1. Should the isolation switch be wired to the positive or negative of the battery? mine is of the negative and I was surprised to find this as I thought it was meant to be on the positive?

    Engine mounts

Dose the linking bar need to be there between the engine mounts?
  3. Got mine in today just need o get a bracket on the chassis to the pedal box by master cylinder. Thanks for the pictures.
  4. Got the back panel all done. Rear aches bolted on. The small arch panels were not wide enough. Steve at kit spares was really good and has had two made up. Will get this done at the weekend.....
  5. Would have loved this but I have mine in bits getting it ready for next year..... Andi you will have to drift on your own........
  6. Thanks for that Derek, do you have any pictures?
  7. So the master cylinder and reservoir faces into the cockpit away from the engine bay?
  8. I see. So this picture is more like it then. So this is to fit the zero and not the 2b? Modifications needed......
  9. Has anybody bought and fitted a kit spares pedal box? what is the metal plate for? Also the pedals are very close together.

    Getting there

Had two good weather days on the bodywork. Today was pants as my Irish wife says “ that’s wet rain that is”. so a good day on the engine started at 06:00 finished at 17:30. Very happy boy. I have a facet pump dose anyone know if I need a fuel regulator for twin Weber dcoe 40’s. And if so what regulator to buy.
  12. I have the trim for the arches. I was only allowed into the shop area for a click and collect.
  13. That is a very good article and very helpful. Could have done with this 4 hours ago. Not sure I have done it correctly..... with the new fibreglass arches from kit spares I can not make and cuts or adjustments as this will be seen. I have fitted the passenger side panel and it looks ok to me......
  14. Thanks for the info guys. I think I need a curve to match the new wheel arches supplied by kit spares. In the picture is this normal. At the bottom I am coming away from the chassis with the panel as it is hitting the rear wish bone?
  15. I had a 7 hour drive yesterday to pick up the new panels. Oh yes a new exhaust fell into my shopping basket!!!!!!! Steve and Richard were so helpful full of good advice. Very pleased with the panels and no work today and suns out so going to get started. have been working on the engine too. Got the correct rings from the machine shop and the new inlet manifold was is being posted today after a 3 month wait.
  16. Do you know what the gap should be?
  17. The picture is the +1.0mm ring the machine shop supplied and it over laps.
  18. I got some hardly used pistons on eBay which the machine shop recommended. yes they had the pistons befor he bored and honed the engine.
  19. I got my block back from the machine shop, I purchased oversized pistons 91.209mm. The machine shop supplied me with new piston rings which were 90.80mm + 1mm This were too big? Looking online I can see 90.80mm + 0.50mm = 91.3mm. My pistons are 91.209mm which means the +0.5mm rings will be 0.091mm too big. Is this small amount of tolerance acceptable?
  20. I picked up my b2 for £3,300 and was road legal. I am amazingly now at £9,700. my question is do I rebuild her to a lower standard sell the expensive bits. still would have newly built engine new arches nose cone. Suspension upgrade, new body panels & new paint job. use it next season and sell it on and then buy zero kit from GBS?
  21. The more I get in this car the more I see needs doing. In so deep can’t stop now. Pound notes are flying out of the account.....
