    Hi folks.

I promised to provide pictures of my door construction once my car ist back from its paint job and completely reassembled. This is now the case. However, the forum site refuses consistently to accept my pics. I therefore have put them into a cloud folder. Hopefully you can see them there.

    https://c.gmx.net/@324523546229343048/XR33lP2YSb6PDgCrD9KJ0w

The door consists of a metal frame (aluminum) with a tent-style soft window in it. I have a metal pin attached to the side of my window frame with a nut on top that also holds the outer frame of my emergency roof in case I need it.
The door is screwed onto that upper point and on the low side it attached to 2 Tenax press buttons that are normally used for the rain cover. These 3 points form a vertical line to which the door is attached with hindges. This frame is sturdy enough to hold the door. On the back side, the door is attached to the roll bar with a spring loaded locking bolt.

The door keeps the draft almost completely out. That's really cool. The only disadvantage is - as dicussed above - that the doors are to big to store them in my car. So I have to decide at the start of the trip if I want doors or not. If I takem them, there is no option anymore to change my mind and drive open.

Is there anyway of seeing these images? As the link has expired thanks

I've been looking g to get my hands on a build mannual for the engine I've taken out I've found the code etched into the flat plate behind the alternator. This reads

LP16995- I belive this means it's a 1990 engine and was told it's from a sierra- would this be the mannual to buy ?

I bought a sierra Haynes manual off eBay that covered 1982-1992. Cost me £5.50 Inc shipping

    Hi mate,

I went for the storm force tailored fit. With optional extra bottom cord. It's superb. Contact storm force you may be able to reproof the cover. They could advise. We have had a lot of rain and it's bone dry.

That's a good idea mate. Currently on holiday but I'll drop them an email and see what they say.

  4. I recently got a S3a and it came with a cover and think it might be a Stormforce or similar as it's taylored fit. It has been used and the cars been sat for a long time and it's no longer waterproof. How long has people Stormforce lasted them? I'm tempted to pay the extra for the custom fit but like @AndyW said it's 3 times the price.

@Routley1985 what did you go for in the end?

    Cheers Graham

  5. Hi

New to all this so apologies if been asked before, I've searched the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer. I picked up a non runner S3a at the weekend and have managed to get it running and moving. I believe the engine is a Pinto 2ltr 205 block from 1987. there is a stamp that looks like "I" to the left of plug #4.

HAs anyone got any idea what the I stands for, is it leaded? if so does it need an additive? what's the best to use and how often?

Ive not had the chance to take the head off to see what shape the ports are, as I want to take it for an mot to get a list of what needs to be down to get it back on the road, then ill have plenty to do in the winter..

    Thanks for your time!

  6. Hi

Im new here, and new to Kit cars. Wanted a Robin Hood for the past 30 years after seeing them at a kit car show in Kempston..

I have just picked up a S3a and I have a load of receipts from the build but no build manual, I know I don't really need one its just a nice to have, does anyone have a PDF of this?

There will no doubt be a lot more questions coming, as its a non runner. I think the webber card will need rebuilding and looks like the starter motor has seized.. if anyone has any advise please fire away!

    Thanks
