  1. Can answer some based on the list.. back exhaust - you should have a bit of bent angle iron .. Don't use it as obvious reverse and drill new holes then one rubber bobbin Can't find a pic but will try and source one. Handbrake why ! fit as is for SVA then change.. Pedal box.. You have got the spacing wrong or fitted clutch as brake easy to do.. Not sure what you mean not tall enough the cables go through front.. Air Filter I used supplied My tank had the fuel pump fitted.. Why does the vac not fit servo its hard to get into servo but mine fitted Made my own fire wall so made my own brake resovior holder. What pipe work re you using resovoir to master I used 0.5 inch copper and 11mm gas into master. If any of this helps email any further I will take extra pictures if I can... and send them email is tony.grimer@tiscali.co.uk Enjoy... when its finished and on the road as mine has been for 3 weeks its great fun.. B)
  2. No go this Weekend.. things to do but rain and more rain.. Fuel line needs work OS Cycle wing after 50 mile trip last SAT has gone very loose.. Still its legal...
  3. My Superspec had a general purpose LAMBDA and passed SVA at an amazing 0.0% I sourced my sensor from ..Lambda Also as I have stated in other threads on advice I used screened leads to LAMBDA from the plug near the alternator. The use of a screened cable ensures electrical pick up from items like the alternator is minimized, various other threads have had problems without screen leads Typically you need 4-wire Universal Zirconia Lambda Sensor for MEMS.
  4. Superspec has discs at rear.. No problem at all with SVA tests in fact the SVA man felt they were really well balanced.

    Zetec Exhaust

The Rover exhaust in the Superspec is very tight to the chassis rail... Its also the biggest faff every to get the side panel on A matter of juggling the exhaust and the panel and anything else you can hold in two hands whilst riding a UNI cycle. They remade my manifold twice before it was right so just keep moaning...
  6. Even if they say YES dont hold your breath Had to ring three times and then wait 4 weeks for the extra bit of paper related to my diff that Mr DVLA wanted.. Would try and get much earlier than needed if I were you..
  7. Car Builders Solutions have a very good flexible pipe Expensive !! but you can get an Spec sheet for Mr SVA tester...
  8. Inaccurate speedo's..... not on a RH !!!! Mine just got through the SVA Read 79.5 @ 70 thats the worst error Oh to find the right sender gear for an MT75..
  9. One side of the sender in the tank is earthed so reversal of wiring does not work... ^_^ At my SVA the tester Dave thought it was quite cool to have the gauge backwards. I know some people have extracted and revesred the arm but mine is backwards and is quite accurate so 1/4 full registers a 1/4 empty.. Enjoy....
  10. Not me but the wife On the SuperSpec its on the near side. However it was on her arm. We were still building she was looking for a water leak and forgot how hot the pipe was... Ouch :o nasty on the upper arm...
  11. Oh well Another day another drive, except I lost the fuel line on the output of the filter. Quite a lot of petrol before I realized and switched off the ignition.. Lucky though the wrapped exhaust got a spray but no fire !! Simple fix but has made me wary ! Cheers...
  12. Hi... Now I understand  Today in the sun I took the car out for my first real blast.... I can now look back on the last 3 years ... the pain the head banging etc... that goes with building a RH and laugh Did not go far, wanted to get a feel for the car with its 2.0 Rover engine and at present quite a stiff new MT75 gear box Apart from embarrassing moments when I could not select the gears they are very stiff at present it was gre........at Having read so many threads on the first real drive and getting used to the quirks of your car as I say I now understand  Its a shame I could not get Build Up before Stafford show so I will have to wait awhile to bring it to a show. I also had to miss the Midlands meet at the Malt Shovel for work commitments but I hope to be there next month.. I have thanked all once before when the car passed SVA but I would once again thak all of you for the answers to questions in the past years The car wears its RHOCAR badge with pride

    I Am Scared Now!

Enjoy the day.. Mine went without a hitch. Sleepless nights before but after the test started really got into the swing with Dave the tester at Birmingham. Took mine on the trailer. But the best bit was driving it around the center to get to the SVA lane and after the test Dave gave me full access to the HGV driving area where I could really have a go.. Only problem was a hose went after the test and had to cut short the figure of eights I was trying even with the old sierra wheel on it was great fun while it lasted.. Echo the sentiments of tools + bits had to tighten steering column UJ Dave felt it was to loose + a bit extra trim on battery tray.. Noe its on the road with a registration ... Greatest fun I've ever had...
  14. Would do but have to work for CENTRO Wednesday night maybe next month...
  15. Well its on the road today but the battery sitting around for nearly 3 years has done it no good It started twice slowly today but now slowly turns only, a quick jump from another battery and away it went again. My question is who do I go to for a new battery. Size is fixed terminals are fixed so where can I go to get a reasonable one?

    Its Legal

Hi Build up took 5 mins at Birmingham DVLA today. Waited 20 minutes for paper work.. Stampede receipts tax disc + Number plate letter.. Got plates looks smart with a new REG of BX58ASO No weather gear fitted and now British weather its raining !!!!! -_- Will have to wait a little longer to get a few miles on the clock..
  17. Wish I was that luchy.. At least at B'Ham the build up is by the person dealing with Registration.. Wish I could get that job its a doddle.. 10 mins I'm told the car will not even come off the trailer. I'm also told the Tax will have to come by post but the No Plate form + proof of Registration on the day .. So maybe just maybe the car will be on the road Monday p.m.
  18. Sorry to contradict but 35W - 12 Volts = 3 Amps So you only need a switch that is rated at No spots X 3 Amps + a fuse in the supply the same. You certainly cant use the side light feed thats normally very lightly fused I would run a new feed from the Ignition feed you won't want the spots on when the engine is not running. Also remember you need to use cable rated at the right current as well. You could use the purple feed for the head lights that would be rated OK. To make sure that they go off when you dip the main beams a relay is one answer but so is a diode wired OR configuration which avoids the relay and the inherent problems of a separate fused supply for the relay and the lights. Can't draw a circuit here but sent me an email and will sketch an couple of solutions and attach scans for you.
  19. That did not work.. Now this...
  20. Now for a remote picture...
  21. Hi stephen. Had to pay up before mine... Don't forget all the paperwork + ID otherwise they will refuse..
  22. Sure wish I was in Sheffield. Still with a little buttering up and three visits it will be SVA pass 8/9/08 Build up 22/9/08 which is better than some. Word of warning rumour is that at Birmingham the lady doing build up is going off for 2 months aprrox and it looks like they don't have anyone else !!!
  23. SuperSpec DVds are the biggest laugh in the world.. When Richard gets bowled over by the dog and then goes on about Pound shops it should be sent in to the TV
  24. here it is... My 3 year project.. On the road I hope Monady p.m. At DVLA 11: 40 a.m.
