  1. When i fitted my Electric fan into nose cone , i also fitted dual temp stat and wired up for auto operation with a manual overide switch in the centre console which operates via the higher range stat , the lower range stat will stay on when ign is turned off until the engine is cool enough , then turns itself off .

  2. Remove the sump and then get it welded, as an oil fire would cause you much more trouble than you have already .

Take your measurements before you lift the engine as the mounts will be compressed slightly due to engine weight .

My spacers where fitted to the base of the mounts directly onto the chassis with the two longer bolts .

  3. I had the same issues so i made two solid 16mm ally spacers to fit under the engine mounts , the oil cap just caresses the bonnet slightly , i used a thinner oil cap i think if my memory serves me right but i may have changed back to the standard one and cut the locating webs a little to lower it a little more into the filler pipe.

Yes a straight edge across the centre line will tell you how far you can go , as thats just what i did .

  4. I would suggest that anyone interested in this subject should do some research into Stan Meyer as this will lead you into places that will invoke many strange ideas , as a year ago i & my son did just that and discovered information that i should not have found as whithin minutes of me reading the info it was removed and never to be found again , why i dont know but enough to say it was very enligtening!!! in very many ways.

  5. Go to the makers or a local agent as they should have the correct glass and size too plus the edge seals , i replaced one in my Parkray a coupe of months ago it came as a kit with seals etc , £40 i think is was off ebay , even a message to a seller may be helpful as some deal in various makes and models.

Dont ever use window glass .

  6. It may well be for the speedo as i think that some later type 9s had senders for electronic speedos , plus i understand they are quite rare ,

May have been used in some Granada's.

Someone in the know will qualify this i'm sure.

  7. My pinking problem was due to low octaine unleaded fuel being used without altering the timeing , this was due to not being able to get hold of leaded 4 star , but i would suggest that you use the additive if you are not sure about your valves haveing hardened seats .

You are more than likely not to notice any difference , but your mind will be at ease valve seat wise.

  8. The only time i forgot to add Valvmaster was on a run up to Newcastle in my old Porsche got half way and the pinking frightened the life out of me when i put my foot down on the A1 , so a lesson learnt here and i never forgot again or had any valve trouble thankfully .

If i remember correctly years ago when i first looked into petrol additives Millars had very good reports but Castrol was easier to come by at the time at local motor factors , so i stuck with Castrol Valvemaster as better the devil you know and all that.

  9. Just a thought on this Al , i wonder if some phone service provider is trying the same trick as rogue elements in the gas and electric providers have been doing ,( i certainly hope not) changing peoples provider without them knowing .

But one never knows these day what scam will be next to hit.

I try not to use call centres at all as they drive me mad getting them to understand the querks of english language .
