added to my last post, on my doner there was a spacer on top of the gear lever plate just the right thickness to go under the fixing plate

Cheers to everyone with this one, I did not know that there was so many different ways of doing this mod, but I went and followed the instructions from the RH web site, designed and made a spacer to the desired wide. Yet to go out on the road but it seems to work OK, but not really convinced about what I will acheive.

Just one question is 7mm the maximum or can you go further?

Hi, I have gone to the limit of fitting a complete rear beam upgrading the brakes to discs and fitting an LSD, which is now successfully finished, but I have not done anything to the shocks and springs, although I have used the springs that came with the beam from a Sierra 4x4. I am now contemplating changing theses to coil over dampers and wondered the best way of going about this and if there was anyone out had any for sale?

Off to scrap yard tomorrow to get a lever to practice on first, so we are looking at a 7mm spacer, looks simple enough, good job my dadas an engineer with a workshop at the back of his house with all the gear.

I have seen various cars with the little wind deflectors, if that is what you call them, fitted to the side of the front screen, has anyone any idea where I can purchase these and if so do they just slide onto the locating pins for the side screens?

Before I go to the extemes of cutting and rewelding the nipple to my hand brake cable, I just wondered if there was any other options out there?

I have finally got the complete beam in place and securely bolted up, new brake pipes and braded hoses make it look the part. Just dbating whether or not to go the full hog and throw even more cash at it and go for coil over dampers.........Who knows that's one I will have to think about and sweet talk the missus. Any way have a great New Year.

I fitted AVO coil overs to mine, and works a treat.

I originally fitted 10 inch 300lb springs but found the ride slighty too high, but as I had a pair of 8 inch "spare", I fitted these in the same drilled holes of the chassis, but now the ride height is slightly too low.

I intend to re drill the holes in the chassis and fit the 8 inch springs (also 300lb) just to give another inch of clearance.

As a result, i do have a pair of 10 inch 300lb springs AVO adjustable coilovers which I intended putting in the "for sale" column.

They have been fitted but never used, so if you are interested, make me an offer. Shockers cost me about £210.
