  1. Have a look at ETB gauges.

    https://www.etbinstruments.com

They do a seven set for about £400 and it comes with all the sender's to match.

I used eBay to get some MGB and cortina gauges but you then have to play around getting temperature and fuel senders to match. Even then it was a fraction of the ETB gauges.

There are other makes like the ones Car Builders Solutions sell.

Any others will probably stretch to more than £400

  2. Plus 1 for nicko. I had a similar issue where my battery voltage was fine, as were all of my earths. I had slow cranking or non-existent starter action on my pinto. I suspected the battery but ended up replacing the starter motor. It all works perfectly now.

  3. I've got cobra roadster seats in my Exmo. A halfords slimline seat (£10) just fits but I use a jumper to boost the height and back for my 5 year old to make it fit better. The straps are a better fit that way.

  4. Looking nice. I take it that the cost of a retrim is a lot less than new seats.

I've got grey roadster 7's that need redoing and really want black but because if the cost of new seats was thinking a similar thing.

  5. Standard Sierra hubs were 4x108 there are loads of alloys on auction sites that will fit but watch the offset. Too much and you'll impede the arches.

Most people go for 195 width and tyre pressures about 19-20 psi.

As for parts, keep a look on eBay as they sometimes come up. There was a chassis and weather gear for less than £200 last week.

The s7 and Exmo are both monocoque design so parts may cross over except for front suspension. The chassis is quite wide, I've got cobra roadster 7's in mine but mx5 seats should fit.

If you are going to register it you will need to put it through the iva if it hasn't been registered before, it's not impossible to do on an older kit and it's been done recently so the information is on here somewhere.

    Welcome to the madhouse

  6. That sounds like the oil pick up pipe could well be your main culprit.

I'm sure there should be a couple of centimetre gap between pipe and base of sump.

Hope it all goes well on the rebuild.

  7. I just picked up a bargain though. Pinto manifold and bandit 1200 carbs plus hose and filter for less than 50 smackeroos.

I do agree prices are crazy high on lots of auctions and buy it nows.

  8. I looked at some a while ago. Mk sports cars sell some for sierra hubs but they are about £60. Kit spares or kit parts direct can't remember which also sell some but they are the mk one's.

Rally design also do some that are for the Sierra hub pt.no. DAR020 £40

  9. I've got those seats in an exmo. However the rear tub looks like one piece instead of bolt on arches, the roll bar mounts bolt to the side instead of going to the boot floor and the rear strengthen bars are too close together. It's also got a Westfield screen or at least the side pillars. Double front wishbone and there's no evidence of monocoque in the engine bay. Someone said it could be a lolocost and there aren't many around. I reckon its an early westie.
