  1. You will definately need a short throw on the zero due to the small distance between the gear stick and the dash.

The type of gear stick will depend on your gear box.

The type 9 gear box extends back to the gear stick hole in the tunnel and the modification is made to the gear stick.

I know of 3 options in order of cost

    1. DIY following the Dave Andrews method

    2. DIY using the rally design kit where you cut the sierra gear stick and jiggle the ball to alter the pivot point and fit a spacer between turret and stick.

    3. Bolt a new gear stick with a short throw from Rally Design.

The MT75 needs a remote gear linkage in the zero GBS sell this and I believe it is always a short throw by design.

  2. Yeah I'm in Peterhead just north of Aberdeen.

Came back and realised that it's actually off the bottom of the efi intake. I'll try and get a picture up but on my phone so no idea how

Sounds like the Breathers from the PCV valve then.

  3. The engine breather pipe is split into two after the PCV valve and feeds back to the cast ally injection inlet manifold to burn off gasses from the crankcase and the vacuum generated in the inlet opens the valve and draws out the gases.

  4. Firstly the picture is not an injection head due to shape of inlet ports but that does not matter for parts ID.

The rectangular hole between ports 1and 2 and 3 and 4 on the head is for engine coolant. In the cast ally injection inlet manifold corresponding to this hole is the engine coolant temperature sensor for the injection ecu and an out let for a bypass for engine coolant from the head back to water pump (via heater matrix if installed).

  5. https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

To check you will need your driver number, your national insurance number and the postcode of the address on the licence.

All points, endorsements and disqualifications are now stored online.

Courts and DVLA will no longer update any paper records.

In fact the advice from DVLA is to destroy the now invalid paper counterpart to a photo card licence from 8th June 2015

If you still have a paper non photo card licence this remains valid but will not be updated with endorsements.

Photocards are only valid for 10 years and the photo needs updating if not the licence is invalid and you commit an offence if you drive. A reminder is sent 2 months before expiry to the address on the licence.

You can share your licence details with employers or hire companies by generating a code and sharing the code.

The online record also shows current licence entitlements such as towing entitlements and the size of vehicles which can be driven.

I have recently become aware that more Courts are disqualifying and endorsing licences in absence which means that there will be more people out there driving whilst disqualified or with revoked licences if they did not receive the summons.

I have checked my licence online because I have little faith in government IT projects and thank fully it appears to be correct and I'm going to check it regularly in future.

This is the one I used on the MX5 after the pressure kit mentioned by SimonB blew my reservoir cap off.

The clear pipe on this one means you can see the bubbles in the tube and if they are gone you know you are done - so a one man job (but I still used the apprentice for brake pedal pressing duty just like my Dad did with me.)
