    i put together my own looms, using 7 core trailer cable. seperate looms for front & rear lights, engine etc. never done any car electrics before this, just took it one circuit at a time and checked all still worked after each new one. very satisfying when it all works, and very cheap
  7. I have same policy with FP, they used the vin number but wanted the reg number as aoon as it was registered.

  11. using bike carbs/megajolt with edis & coils on my DOHC
  12. good luck with the test did you decide the screen on or off for the test? & dont forget to fill the fuel tank.
  13. cant help with Q1+2 Q3, the info you need is in section 18 of the IVA manual, https://online.businesslink.gov.uk/Transport_files/124_IVA_M1_Inspection_Manual_Version_0511.pdf my local dvla let me make my own vin, so check with yours Cheers Paul

Hi Daz I used a New Link USB serial adapter purchased from Kenable.co.uk. ref no USB-0039, I did get it to work but the port changed every time I plugged it in, I now use an old laptop with a serial port on and it works first time every time. Ive read that some types of adapters dont like XP or Vista try these settings You may need to set/check the serial port up using My Computer| Properties | Hardware | Device Manager | Ports | Communications Port | Properties | Port Settings. The following parameters should be set: • Baud Rate: 4800 • Data Bits: 8 • Parity: N • Stop Bits: 1 • Flow Control: None cheers Paul
