  1. Hi all, i've got a manual steering rack here if anybody has use for it. It's from a 1988 Sierra and is standard. i.e... not extended. Free for collection. I'm 10 mins from M1 J26 in Derbyshire. Cheers all, Nick
  2. .i think everyone paints the garage before collection day, like when you have your first born and decorate the nursery.. g jess. PMSL............ thats a good one Jess.
  3. Hi Bob, PM me your address and i'll post it off to you. I'll let you know how much it cost to post after i've done it. PayPal, cheque, postal order, cash. Upto you. Cheers, Nick
  4. Hi my fellow hoodies, i have a good servicable electric fuel pump removed from my Pinto 2.0 EFi donor i've just stripped. Not the prettiest of things, but works well and it's quiet. Yours for the cost of postage (approx £4) or your welcome to collect. Collection would be better as that way you would get a cup of tea. lol. Cheers, Nick
  5. Hi all, and welcome Stuart & Steve, your not on your own out there, i pick my Zero plus kit up on the 11-12-09. I'm starting to think it would be best to bin the manual and rely on the experts on here instead. Some very knowledgable peeps on here there are. Best of as they say....... Nick.
  6. So then my fellow hoodies............... Let me get this right??? To panel my Zero that i'm soon to be picking up i will need............. 4 strong blokes, 378 G clamps, 8" long rivets, a big hammer, a bigger hammer, and a sheet metal lengthening wand. == == == == Am looking forward to it really. Cheers, Nick

    Pinto To Zetec

Hi Whiz, best option (in my opinion) would to be look out for a Cat C accident damaged complete car that has the engine in you want. Break the car sympethetically and you should make your money back plus some hopefully. Engine and associated parts are then free. Just done it with my Sierra donor (almost in profit) and been doing it for years with Landrovers when i needed spares for my offroad racing hobby. HTH or at leasts puts an idea in your head. Goodluck, Nick.
  8. Hi Grizzly, if it helps mate i'm just breaking an 88' 2.0 pinto with vented discs etc, your's free of charge (dics, calipers etc) if you want to try them before leaking gold coins on a new set-up. HTH, Nick.
  9. Going for the nice iva friendly Pinto to start with. Prob run it for a year to iron out teething troubles then switch to something with a bit more about it. Nick
  10. Nice little lump your using there. lol. Message me if you need to know anything about the rover V8, i've spent the last 17 years playing about with them in my offroad race motor. Just sold a 4.0l Gems engine a couple of weeks ago. When you collecting your kit?? Cheers, Nick.
  11. Hi all, popped over to GBS this morning for a nose round and to dot a few i's and cross a few T's on my Zero plus order. Finally set a collection date........ 11th December. Jee's, i'd better get this Sierra stripped and all the bits left over sold on pronto. Really looking forward to starting the build. I've even given the garage a lick of emulsion and repainted the floor. Talk laters peeps. Nick.

    Yippee

Fantastic stuff, well done. Looks really good. Hopefully my will look something similar. Nick.
  13. Hi Ian, Oops, sorry. wasn't aware of a rule 7. How do i make people aware i'm breaking a motor without listing everything with a price, as to do that would be almost impossible with me not knowing what parts any given person would be after. Any help massively appreciated as i don't want to break any rules but also want to ensure my bits go to a good home. I would much rather someone on here have them than stick them through ebay. Let me know if you want me to remove the message. Many thanks Nick.
  14. Hi all, I'm currently breaking a 1988 2.0 pinto EFi as a donor for my Zero. I'm using the engine but not the EFi unit, so that will be available. Willing to post smaller items for the cost of P&P and for reference i'm located 10 mins from M1 J26. Cheers all, Nick
  15. Thanks Phil, i've sourced one now mate, but many thanks for your offer. Regards, Nick
  16. Dan, your speaking my language now mate. What type you running?? and with what management system?? you running ECU for fuel only or did you go the full monty on the fuel and ignition. Where did you source them?. Sorry for the bombardment of questions, lol. Pics would be nice if possible. Many thanks, Nick.
  17. Cheers Andrew, what carbs did you use?? been told alsorts will fit. Have you any pics?? Regards, Nick
  18. i'll second you on a carb engine sounds better, lol. I don't mind the look of the cut bonnet with the airfilter, it's the hole in the top for the EFi i don't fancy. I'm going for the bare alloy look on the bonnet, so to bulge the bonnet would be a bitch to achieve an asthetically pleasing finish Cheers, Nick
  19. cheers zoomzoom, i like the look of the bikecarbs with the protruding airfilter. What carbs did you use?? Chers, Nick
  20. Hi all, has anybody got an opinion on fitting the 2.0l EFi Pinto into a Zero?? I'm looking for advice on which way to go with the fueling. I think my options are EFi or a set of bikecarbs?? switching to carbs isn't an issue as i'd make my own manifold, but are there any other things / pitfalls to know about. As far as i know, the EFi won't fit under the bonnet in a standard form?? Some pics of my donor i've just got here:- http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/ss195/shaft_Zero/ if ya fancy a nosy. Cheers peeps, Nick.

    Rust

Electrolosis, basically you need a big plastic bowel of water, soda crystals (soap), a lump of steel (not stainless) and a 12v battery charger. Self cleaning parts. Look up the process and polarity on the web, i won't give details as i don't want to be responsible if you do it wrong. It's not dangerous to you, just your donor parts if you get it wrong. lol HTH Nick
  22. Can i sell the shell before i register my Zero?? i know i need the V5, but not sure about selling on major parts. It's completely rust free everywhere. Underneath looks the same as the body does so i hope i should get my money back as i only paid £400 for the car. 77,000 miles on it, all history etc to prove. I was blown away when i first saw it. Cheers, Nick
  23. Hi all, thought i'd share a couple of pics of the donor Sierra i've just bought. It's too good to break really, but oh well, LOL, needs must. I thought you'd all appreciate the condition of this 21 year old car being all of the same hobby. I'm still in shock from when i 1st lifted the bonnet. What do you think? Cheers, Nick

  25. YES!!!!!!!!!!! finally landed the perfect donor. Came in from work today, logged onto Ebay and a 1988 Sierra 2.0 GLSi with only 77k on the clock (warranted) had just been listed. 1 phone call offering a few gold coins and a quick trip out (ok, 300 mile rounr trip ) and it's in my garage. Thanks for all the info guys, it seems patience is a virtue. Nick
