  1. I occasionally noticed this on my Super-Spec.

    1. I think I had too much coolant in the system.

    2. I only noticed it after a bit of speed on the dual-carriageway before home - I guess once I pulled up and turned off, everything was very hot and couldn't cool down (engine off - no circulation) - so that the coolant expanded and overflowed. There was only ever a small puddle so I didn't worry about it.

  2. Val popped in and got some info (I think she wants to go too).

£15 per person (£13.50 concessions). Cheaper for group bookings of 11 or more (don't know what the discount is).

I think it has to be booked (online) in advance too, i.e. you cannot just turn up.

    Duration is 1.5 - 2 hours with a cafe on-site (I think) - cream tea afterwards?

Minors welcome, but they don't get the complimentary drink at then end!

Perhaps sometime in September/October preceded by a pub lunch first.

    Google "Bombay Sapphire".

  3. Great time had by us - thanks Bob & Mo.

Shocking amount of flies collected on the windscreen / front numberplate / headlights etc. during the day (probably worse going home at night). Just goes to show that a hoodie is not aerodynamic like a modern car, and I'm thankful I had a windscreen....

    Thanks,

  4. Had a colleague who used

    www.dirtypcbs.com

Very cheap for small sizes and small volumes and very impressive quality for the cost (including postage).

They're made in China so takes a couple of weeks - CAD software is available as a freebie on the net (Eagle??).

I was that impressed that I made a note - but I havent' used them myself (yet).

  5. My wife used to watch it for it's entertainment value - she was never bothered about the cars. So even though it was the same-old same-old being endlessly repeated, it was the antics of the three-amigos that captivated.

Wifey wont be watching any new series of Top Gear unless the BBC can really pull off a cracking trio (Jodie Kidd - so false when reading from the autocue on Ch5).

  6. Write a letter to garage manager (deliver by hand or recorded delivery. In the letter, tell him you will take it to the small claims court (stating why - bearing is good and work was not authorised).

If they don't reply or you get nowhere, issue court proceedings (I think it's quite easy these days - and you should get your costs back too).

If it goes as far as court you take the wheel bearing with you - judge should rule in your favour.

    Ignore trading standards.

  7. We have a 2.2L turbo diesel Ducato ('07) 3.5T coachbuilt (5berth) motorhome, which when loaded to go away is very nippy.

We don't have a tow-bar, but I do think it will capably tow a small car along motorways, although it will labour on the steeper inclines.

The small engine, I think, will be hit by fuel consumption too (we currently get approx. 23mpg doing leisurely runs).

My personal preference would be to go for a bigger engine to tow. With the smaller (2.2) engine - if you were towing all the time, I think you would find it tiresone, slow and thirsty.

    Hope this helps,

  8. I holed my oil filter three miles from home driving around some country roads, so legged it back home leaving a nice trail of oil all the way to home (oil pressure light came on half-way home and was very tappety by the time I got home).

After letting it cool down, there was nothing left in the sump. Refilled it and added a new filter and all has been good for twelve months now.

After many months of rain the oil trail on the road has now disappeared.

I blame the original problem of hitting a pothole on the extra weight I had in the car that day (wifey)!
