  1. Hi

Chassis No must be on the vehicle twice

one on the manufacturers plate, which can be riveted on, the second must be either stamped, which you have found is difficult, engraved, which requires a steady had, or the simplest as mentioned above, stamp a piece of stainless steel and weld it to the chassis.

must be to off side of vehicle though, anywhere convenient that the tester can get to.

  2. Hi

    Longboarder is correct

All white wires on that loom are ignition feed.

the tacho feed does change colour with different versions, usually white/orange, but can be white/red or red/white. if it has red in the colour code the starter feed is often the reverse colours, but that comes out of the loom with the three or four brown wires at the starter. so can't really be mistaken.

  3. Hi

Before rolling road, or changing anything in the map.

have you set TPS in ECU? if not it is quite likely that it is picking up the wrong throttle position and therefore over fuelling.

have you balanced the throttles? each pair are usually out of sync but Jenveys can also be out of balance on each throttle.

which map are you using? the emerald is pre installed with a general map that should work fine for a run on "private" roads.

a rolling road will be able to set the engine up very accurately, however it is a little costly to do it twice. A map for performance, will NOT get you through IVA, and one for IVA is to lean for the road, unless you fit some extra feedback to the ECU.

  4. Having finally got my manifolds I now need an wire correction key for the GSXR throttle bodies. Does anyone know where I can get them.I must be calling them the wrong thing coz I can't seem to find them at all!

no idea what that is, can you describe it, them?

  5. Hi

as long as they work when needed.

side lights may be used as parking lights outside of 30mph limits so without ignition, headlights on ignition.

Horn is for warning others whilst driving, I think it is illegal to sound horn at other times so no need to have live all the time.

Never been asked to test lights or horn with ignition on or off.

  6. Hi

    1. yes

2 & 3 there have been to many changes over the last 12 months to allow the comparison between vehicles. The notches you mention are pre crescents and a different rear panel. if you don't have them you will have the crescents. The overlap is likely to be caused by the roll cage supports. I would advise a call to GBS to seek advise on YOUR car.

4 the length of the top trim is normal, it is designed to be bent along the top of, and secured to the sill rail. the sill rail trim will cover the fixings. with the crescents you can also bond the trim down the crescents, no need for rivets unless you prefer. further advise at GBS.

Can't help with the nerves, sorry.

  7. hi

crankcase breathing can cause problem, however, front and rear cover plate don't always align with the bottom of the crank case on the zetec.

Ford advise a the use of silicon sealer at the four points the plates join. experience says that if you don't it will leak.

  8. Hi

top frame is secured to lower with self tap screws.

you need to assemble frame (with glass) cut lower to fit then drill through upper frame side into cross bar into lower H section.

you might have to angle the line of the hole to miss the glass, and you will need to counter sync the holes so the screw head is flush with the surface, allowing the pillars to fit flush to the sides.

if you need more detail, PM me

  9. Hi

Kent Zero, If you have followed GBS advise and it did not work, have you told them, so they can find out why?

there is no relay for the washers in the P&P loom. but there are at least nine different Sierra switches, may be you have an odd one, that is causing the problem with their loom.

either way they will not be able to sort it if they don't know of the problem.

  10. Hi

ETB transmitter earth's through engine block, terminals on back are marked G for Oil gauge and WK for warning light.

Wire from G should connect to terminal T on the gauge. terminal B on the gauge should be ignition live through a fuse.

    Any help?

    Regards

  11. that shouldn't be a problem.

only two things I can think of

Poor connection or broken wire when the cables are moved together

    or

if you have ESC ignition I have heard they are prone to cross feeding if the wires are in close proximity. wires should be shielded but that can break down over time.

If you have ESC it may be better to leave well alone,

    Regards
