  1. Hi I went to the Exeter show on Saturday. I got the Robin Hood out of the garage checked the fluids and toped up with anti freeze and screen wash as some people had seen some snow the other night. The Hertfordshire morning was fresh but dry with a frost on the tin tops. I wrapped up warm woolly hat on and gloves, programmed the Sat Nav on my PDA and set off, First stop on all Hood outing was the filling station then on my way, The M25 soon came, foot down pullout, my drivers side mirror then decided to now move to a totally useless position. So much for carefully adjusting at the garage earlier. Not to be put off I pressed on the 200 miles was quite a daunting prospect on ones own in a kit car. The route I took was going to be M25 M3 A303. I left the M25 On to the M3 Then it started to rain not a lot the sort that blows over the top. Then It turned in to sleet as I joined the A303. My new speed camera software for the PDA was working a treat sounding warning when you get within a set distance. By now The cold was setting in a feeding station approached for me and the car. 75 miles with out a roof with temperatures at 0 or below I was cold so filled up the car fitted the hood and retreated in to the Little Chef. A hot pot of tea was most welcome as I thawed out the full English arrived washed down with an other hot Cuppa I was soon back on the road. This time with the hood up as the ran had got heaver. Stonehenge soon appeared on my right, I was about half way and my watch had stopped. May be the battery or the cold. I finally arrived at the Show found some ware to park no sign of the RHOCAR crowd so went inside out of the rain. The usual stalls and stands laid out around the hall. I chatted to the Kouger cars owner about how the restoration of my bosses Aston was going as it is in there workshop. It is now painted in British racing green and John wants white number circles on the doors so that he can go racing some day. Stafford Vehicle Components stall was my next stop for a high level brake light and some new head lights. The MNR racing stand was getting a lot of interest and after mentioning that Rizla AK Andy Daniels seamed to be having fun in his new car, got a full low down about the off's at Donnington. I then purchased a dead Sheep, looked at the new weather gear on the Luego not to impressed with the side screens. Got some info on the Raw Toyota engines, Dreaming of more power. I then set off home it had stopped raining I left the roof on as it still looked a bit black with the rain heading east. A stop at the filling station and I was on my way. I just made it on to the dual carriage way of the A303 before it got totally dark. After 100 miles I stooped at the services a great big flood had to be driven through to enter the petrol station, I believe my bum was below the water line. Then the pump I had stooped at had its own paddling pool around it. I was half way home and set off, soon The M3 soon appeared so did the sleet, which turned to snow. This then settled on the corner of the screen the bit that dos not get wiped. The bit I look through normally. The rain soon returned as I got near the M25. The sound of the computer voice saying take the 2nd exit from the round about in 400 yards had got a bit boring so I new where I was. Sow it was some time for some music so off went the sat Nav and on with The Who. I am a bit of an old rocker. Within now time at all I was home. Now for the automatic garage door ( call the wife on the mobile Honey I am home can you open the garage door for me). Eleven hours door to door Now how do I tell Lesley I have spent this months house keeping on a dead sheep!!. All the best Stephen

It comes complete with all Uk And Major Roads In Europe. It got me to Le mans no problem and will recalculate if you do not go its way. The best boys toy apart from the Hood. 17. HI Bugsy I had a problem with the hand brake cables at sva and had to fit skids to protect them as I have the bracket pointing down as well the skids make it all very stiff and take the impact when it grounds out. I have the lowered floor as you do. see my sva report @ http://www.stevedohc2b.freeserve.co.uk/sva_test.htm I have now done 5000 + miles and still OK although grounds out a bit on rough roads when towing it. well don with the test car looks great all the best stephen

    ****ing Dvla

Stuart you have to play by there rules I am afraid. A catch 22 I took my car to the build up inspection on the back of a local breakdown firms transporter only cost £80 well worth it I thought and I did not have to drive so saved on insurance Mot and fuel as well. I have had my car on the road for 11 months now well worth the slight hassle. Even if I did get a fine for the non payment of road tax on the donor after jumping through all the DVLA Hoops. Still got an apology in the end. Ful info on my web sight @ http://www.stevedohc2b.freeserve.co.uk/month__seven.htm Good luck and keep up the good work not long now. All the best Stephen Altwasser

    Whoops!

The same thing happened to me after a few miles. The rac Man had a nut that fitted the thread so we contuned our Journey first trip to show mum and dad. I did not tell them what had happened as it would have worried them to much. My son got back in the car as well, very brave as we nearley crashed and came to rest on a blind bend. Have now replaced and drilled and pinned in postion and fitted a locking tab to bottom ball joint. I have now covered several thousand miles and OK. At lemans one lad said that the taper on the hub did not match the ball joint and filled his down and had several washers packing out the ny lock to hub the thread came through that much. worth looking in to if you have your hub and ball joint to hand. I posted a report on my web about my problem and fix under on the road @ http://www.stevedohc2b.freeserve.co.uk/on_the_road.htm last year to warn people as well. Stephen Atwasser
