    S7 Engine Swop

Hi I have had the engine out of my S7 without the gearbox its a bit of a job but saved taking the seat's and transmission tunnel out to get to the rear gearbox mount. As for getting the engine back on to the gearbox input shaft its a sod of a job :gdit: it was a good plan at the time. Got to take my engine out soon to renew the rear crankshaft oil seal so the gearbox is going to come out as well as Im fitting 5 speed box. :boohoo: All the best & good luck Chris

  11. Hi Tuco, Wellcome. All the Ford Pinto SOHC are good engines. the 1.6 will be quick in a Robin Hood with a good power to weight ratio. If you want more fun from your money then go for the 2.0 Pinto but what ever you end up doing your going to have fun anyway Chris

    Efi Mixture Setting

Hi Steve Frist thing to do is to check that your ignition timing is right and the spark plugs are correctly gapped. Then get the engine up to its normal operating temperature, connect a gas analyser to the exhaust. (if you can get your hands on one or a Gunson colour tuner will do) The ajustment on the air flow meter mixture screw is turning it in (clockwise) richens the mixture and turning out (anticlockwise) will weaken the mixture. If you still have the popping and banging from the exhaust then you may have a leak in one of the exhaust joints. hope this helps you out a bit Chris
