Steven, Sorry to put the kybosh on things, and I'm sure there is no need to remind you that 'IF' you do get a job that pay's £36,237 plus 12.5% shift allowance (pay award pending), you will be knocking on the door of the 40% tax bracket :(

However... you will of course be pleased to know as I am sure we all are..... that every penny of that 40% tax will be put to good use and spent wisely by Mr Brown

Once again.. good luck in your Job Hunt.

Cheers

Hi Steve,

Here's the plan- do a PGCE teacher training year at Charlotte Mason Ambleside;(Now also have a campus in Carlisle but not sure if all subjects are covered there) specialise in maths or physics or Technology or ICT (shortage subjects) get some practice in schools over here or even near to home then hang around and wait for a suitable job in the area with reasonable holidays spread throughout year.

Cunning plan:

Gives time for tinkering with car / driving, getting out on the hills and may be less stress, you could do your MLC and get involved with taking kids out on the hills so you get paid for doing what you enjoy (could well be less cash, but hey think of those holidays!!!)

If you are serious and want to kick ideas around get in touch, you'll be glad to know your old steering rack is doing just fine!!

What if I built a 4 seater like this and took punters for blasts around the Lake District?

Anybody know the insurance position? It's only a taxi ride after all.

What would a punter pay for 45 minute run over a mountain pass? £30 each?
