Has anyone written out a definitive list of things to take? Just incase someone forgets something.

Daz, here is the list I did for Dave a few years back:

Log book – copy

Insurance certificate

Breakdown cover, home and abroad if you have it

Ferry booking confirmation

Hotel booking confirmation

Camping permit

Camping gear

Tent

Air beds/camp beds

Sleeping bags

Pillows

1 or 2 ring cooker with spare gas or fuel

Couple of medium pans

Kettle

Matches/ lighter

Cooking utensils, wooden spoons etc – as per pans

Crockery, cutlery – plates, cups, bowls, knife, fork etc

Cool box – if you can fit one

Folding chairs – take or buy there

Folding table – nice but not necessary, get there if you feel the need

Light or torch

Rucksack or bag to carry gear/beer/food to race track

Car stuff

Hi viz jacket – got to carry one per person in France now

Spare bulbs – got to be able to replace bulb or can be fined

Warning triangle

Spare parts you feel necessary

Jack

Tools, fluids etc

Personal gear

Clothes for 8 days – don’t forget you can get 4 days from a pair of underpants!!

Wash kit – you might get chance for a shower

Towel/s

Sun cream – keep your fingers crossed

Coat – it has been known to rain

Medication

Ear plugs – its noisy all the time

Small secure bag – shoulder or bum type for all your docs and valuables, you need to carry them at all times as light fingered French pikies will rob you given the opportunity, sleep with it in the bottom of your sleeping bag too!

Wallet, Euros, debit/credit card

Sense of adventure and humour

If you get all that lot in your car you won't go far wrong, last item is definitely the most important!

Hi All,

here is the route that I had in mind for the run down to the stop over campsite, it all depends on time, don't really want to be in Rouen during rush hour and its only five miles more going the scenic route.

Boulogne

A16 to jct with A28 at Abbeville

A28 to Jct with A29 near Saint Martin-Osmanville

A29 to Jct 9

Exit A29 onto D929/N29 near Sainte Marie des Champes

Onto D131e passing Saint Clair sur les Monts

Onto D131

Follow to Jct with D490 near Maulevrier Sainte Gertrude

Follow D490 passing Rancon and Sainte Wanrille Rancon

Cross the river by bridge

Follow D490, which becomes D913

Pass Le Landin

D913 becomes D313

Follow this to Bourg Achard, in town centre turn right and campsite is on the left
