 I'd better bring some WD40 and some Easy start along with me then as water can sometimes stop old Spanky in her tracks

but saying that remember the TVH Mince Pie run a few years back, how much standing water and rain did we have that day  fun times :D

Just got back from 'Flipper's'(Steve Altwasser) Cotswold Capers, and what a great time it was too.

The pub was great, great food, it's own micro brewery, nice well kept camping field with access to the pub for showers and toilets.

Went for the ProDrive factory tour on Friday afternoon, brilliant place, various Astons and Subarus in different states of preperation or repair for racing and rallying, engines and boxes being either built, reconned or being put through their paces on test rigs. And on top of that loads of historic race and rally cars in the heritage centre that you can hop in and out of, including both Colin McRae and Richard Burns' Subarus.

Run out today, Tim was struck by electrical gremlins in the GTM, Chris N had a cambelt snap in Moreton in Marsh, but as its a pinto no harm was done and the RAC patrol had a new belt in the van, so Chris and the patrolman replaced it at the side of the road. The rest of us went on a very scenic trip round the Cotswolds, stopped for lunch in Bourton on the Water, dodged showers and passed a Top Gear presenter's house, then all safely back to the pub by four thirty.

I'm sure somebody will be along tomorrow to fill in the details for the rest of the weekend as I had to dash back for work tomorrow

What a fantastic weekend I can only agree with Steve. The Prodrive visit has to be the highlight of the weekend apart from being able to climb in and out of the cars was the fact that the lady who conducted the tour was so knowledgeable about the whole of the company (on the racing side)

Thanks to Stephen for the run out on Saturday and sorry if we went off track a few times (we were never lost, well once we found out where we were in every case) and in any case we took you on to the A40 so you could have a look at some very bent tintops.

As Steve said the site was great with excellent food in the pub.

Sunday morning after a leisurely breakfast we struck camp, well those who were leaving did. Said our goodbyes and went our separate ways that is except 10 of us who With Lesley leading (Stephen {Flipper} can’t drive with a broken arm) we went on another scenic drive of about 30 miles to yet another pub – a two for one in this case- for lunch after we did finally say goodbye and went our own way home

A big thanks to Stephen and Lesley for all there work in organising such a successful weekend

The Company of you all made it for Lesley and I.

I must thank Lesley for being my Driver for the weekend other wise I would have not made it with My Flipper and one good arm.

Many thanks to Chris and Steve for taking us as passengers on the run out Sat.

Most of all glad you enjoyed it, and want to it again.

Prodrive was a fantastic visit with the sitting in the red Ferrari GT was great if only getting out with a flipper could have been as easy !!! Thanks for the lift out Steve.

Had a fantastic weekend even with the cam belt snapping, with the tour around Prodrive on the Friday. Great company Great food and a pub and campsite in a beautiful setting, a big thanks to Stephen (AKA Flipper) and Lesley for organising it all.

I have to be the most luckiest Hoody alive yesterday, having a RAC patrolman coming out to me who just happened to have a Pinto cambelt in the back of his van :clapping: even if it had been on there for the last 7 years or so, as I had visions off me going home with old Spanky on the back of a recovery truck. :cray: RAC guy was a total star in giving me a hand to fit the new belt at the side of the road and for going as far as following us back to the campsite. :good: OMG did I need a beer :drinks:

Also a big thank you to Bob, Sylvia, Vic & Wendy :friends: for looking after Tasha when Becks came back out to me with the food and drink supplies.

Will be out in the garage tomorrow to strip out the front end of the engine to fit new oil seals and cambelt and a new water pump while its all out, all ready for next Sundays TVH meeting :D

Thanks to Lesley and Steve. It was good to see you make the best of the weekend and overcome the "flipper" Derek would have been like a bear with a sore head (dead mardi as they say in this area). Hopefully Lesley will be back on the stronger stuff at Stafford with her Chauffer hat left at home.

Thanks for the escort to the A46 - journey home was a doddle from that point.

A great time had by all

I have added the ten entrance fees Given by Prodrive to the Hoody bear web site the sum of £170.

Thanks to those who attended and for Phil getting the free ticket.

This brings the total I have helped raised to £393.

Keep up the good work

Stephen
