European Breakdown Cover

Any one got any tips for best single trip Breakdown policy. I'm covered in UK as part of bank account with AA. AA will cover for 8 days for £72. Most will only cover cars for up to 15/16 years and mine is 32 .

 

Have a feeling I will end up buying with AA - but before I do thought I'd ask here if anyone found any good deals.

Hi Lee,

cant help with single policies, but Ive always arranged for breakdown cover under my insurance policy.

Frank Pickles include all year UK cover plus 30 days European cover. Total cost was about £122.

Makes £72 for 8 days look a bit of a rip-off.

 

PS I have always explained that despite the "B" reg I have, the car was manufactured from all fully reconditioned parts, and was first registered in 2002. After all, it could be a new car with a personal number plate.

i'll be in a big rover lee with a tow rope on board if you need a tow back to blighty!

lee if your covered with Flux they can do full breakdown for the hood, inc european cover for 32 quid, not worth adding it onto any of the others

Hi Lee,

 

Be careful with AA, I use to be with them (cover for me in any car so I thought), on my first trip to Le Mans I phoned them to add european cover for a week and got a quote.

 

A couple of days later I phoned them again to take out the policy, only then after asking several questions they said they don't actually cover kit cars as the original build condition is of unkown quality.

 

Now got an anual Driver cover policy with RAC which covers me and Ann in any car anywhere in Europe.

to all the pauls with v8's.....can you make sure you def have your tow ropes!!!!!!! i'll either break down or run out of fuel!! 28ltrs and 3.5 rv8.mmmmm

 

might make a route of petrol stations! or pack a few cans!

I think we know most of the fuel stops after all the years some of us have been going Jase so should be a problem
