Can anyone advise me on the best alternator and any pulleys to get for my robin hood 2b with a 2.0lt pinto engine fitted.

I haven't a standard one to try up against it, i have heard that a Daihatsu alternator will fit but i dont't want to buy one just in case it doesn't.

A little Denso is the way to go -- probably. It's small size allows fitting where-ever. We have a 1.8 CVH engine & I fitted our Denso under the inlet manifold which was opposite to Ford fit, just a question of making brackets & in our case fitting a poly-groove pulley instead of the single; working fine 11k miles later.

There are several Ford ones that fit straight on.

Kit cars don't use much leccy as we don't have radios, heated screens, seats and leccy windows

So fit the lowest powered and hence the smaller alternator.

55 amp

The Denso is loverly and small just make sure the pulley is the correct one for the belt you are running.
