Spare Wheel Removal

Chaps advice please. I am toying with the idea of loosing the spare wheel and metal chassis loop for it. Generaly to save weight and replace with a can of that tyre repair stuff for the odd puncture or use the RAC.

 

I appreciate the advantage of having a spare, but i used two in the tintop in the last 150,000 miles so would be unlucky in a car i may do 1000 miles a year in. Forgetting about Sod`s law of course.

No spare just a can of tyre weld, 14,000miles later so far so good; just like the man who fell out the top floor window. A tow bar is now fitted in place of the hoop, & as yet haven't found or needed a spare for the trailer tent -- as I said so far so good.

 

Optimism is what gets me out of bed.

dont forget that the hoop and tyre is the only thing between the car behind you , and your fuel tank

never had a spare on 2b but left the hoop, when i was rear ended by a big jag it took a lot of the impact and proper stuffed his car! keep it imho
