Removing Dummy Struts

Have a really close look, mine has 3mm roll pins through hub and dummy strut, if you have the same covered in crusty stuff you might not be able to see them.

Are the strut housings still with thread in for the pinch bolt, that is the bolt doesn't push straight through & then a nut? If so , put the bolt in the threaded side & wind in towards the split section ;place a piece of thickish metal in the gap & continue winding the bolt in against the metal plate which will open the split & release the strut. Don't over-do it -- you want to be able to re-use the upright.
