Can someone please help me out here as I'm a bit confused?

 

Going to be sending off all my paper work this week to VOSA. If you get a Q plate is your car excluded from the emissions test?

Which emissions test do you mean?

 

At IVA you will be tested on emissions based on engine age.

 

At MOT you will be tested based in standard allowances or what is in the V5. So you will either get visible smoke only at MOT on a Q plate or if unlucky, emissions based on the engine depending in what mood DVLA are in.

I see...the engine's year is 1999.

Q plate cars are worth less money too...and you can never change or remove it iirc

1999 engine will need a cat and probably fuel injection to get lambda to 1

Engines upto 1995 don't need a cat

I already have a cat and wideband Lambda but i think I have knackered it. Before I had it tuned it was spittting flames as it was over fuel'd so I think the cat will be buggered

with the right map you can get it through without lambda sensor, but you will need a cat
