Can You Fit ....?

hey people just curious but how do you people transport full cars if not on the road?

been looking into hiring vans etc but doubt it would fit easy enough? if anyone can offer any advice it would be muchly appreciated

As in a completed car? Trailer is about your only option, that it hire a small transporter.

Mate of mine has a 71/2 tonne with 1000Kg extended tail lift but the usual is a trailer

Specs are difficult and not recomended for long distance

thing is im only 20 you see so if i had a trailer i could only carry 750kg

what about a 3.5 ton curtain sider or something like that? as i could therefore fill inside with bits and bobs too

B+E entitlement has been a seperate test since 1997. You can tow more than 750kg as long as trailer MAM is less than car kerb weight and total doesn't exceed 3500kg.

I've spoken to dvla at length about the towing rules as there is loads of conflicting info.

 

Basically driving test passed after 1 jan 1997

You can tow up to a 750 kg unbraked trailer with a vehicle up to 3500kg in weight (4250kg combined vehilce and trailer weight) or...

If the trailer is over 750kg, the the combined vehicle and trailer weight cannot exceed 3500kg (as long as the trailer and load doesn't exceed the kerb weight of the car)

Remember though its not trailers weight but the MAM (maximum authorised mass) weight that matters.
