A Police helicopter was sent up and now its too costly to Police

The objection was to cars wheel spinning whilst leaving the event.

What a shame though, I dont think Ive ever been to an event as big, as well organised and free.

The problem is it got too popular for its own good. Because of where it is held there is a pinch point when leaving over the humpback bridge and with the crowds lining the road as people leave it get dangerous especially when people are encouraging those leaving to wheelspin

New meet for those that used to attend is now at the leicester speedway, right near cop shop so should discourage the few that ruined it. Same dates as before second tuesday of month

I still went along to Ashby last week just to see what was what.. There was me and nine bikers at the pub, oh, and 2 cops on bicycles who stayed for 20 mins or so

 

Still, it was a nice run out.

Becketts Farm meeting in Brum was near a cop shop too - and didn't make a scrap of difference there. Idiots will do their thing regardless of who's around. Any free meeting will eventually become a victim of it's own sucess because it's impossible to control a minority of idiots in a big crowd.

 

Towards the end, Becketts Farm was a bad accident waiting to happen, fortunately the organisers realised and shut it down.

 

It's interesting to note that the Becketts meeting was originally held nearby at the Royal Sun Alliance site but it was closed down there because they were concerned people could walk around the landscaped gardens and they've got areas of water that aren't cordoned off!!! H&S and all that.
