Wiring Loom Diagrams

Hi all, can any one help, i am building a 2b a unfinished project,it came with i think an early gbs wiring loom but the colour don't match vg loom,e.g. temp. Sensor orange wire, oil pressure switch yellow wire ( 3 relays / 6 fuses, wiring only for nsf headlight) and no instructions. I've been trying to wire sierra stalks for three days solid no luck ahh!!!!

The wire colours i have at the stalks:-

Green/yellow

Green

Orange

Red/green

Green/black

Brown

Grey/red

Red/white

Yellow/blue

White

Black

Orange/black

Orange/white

Red

A diagram would be good as i can't find the one with these colours. or if you can tell me where they go on sierra stalks. If anyone can Help will be really grateful,thank you!!

green yellow 49a of column switch

green, secondary ignition supply

orange 53c washer switch

red green ?

green black R right indicators

brown constant live

grey red 53b wiper switch

red white starter wire but check at starter as colours have been reversed on some looms

yellow blue 53 wiper slow

white ignition live

black ground

orange black 56b to dip beam relay

orange white shore its not white orange which is 56a main beam relay

red 58 side lights

just realised

 

red green is probably green red L left indicators

green is not ignition live its 49 to indicator relay

Hi tried the above wiring.

Hazard switch when switched on keeps lights on constant no flashing.

Headlight switch only beam flashes, no lights come on.

Indicators won't work.

Changed earth on main beam relay to switched live from ignition, used that earth to top of stalks.

Any ideas

forget earth switching, that is what ford used on some of their vehicles, the loom is not designed that way. wire them up live switch. or you will have to change the relay circuits.

 

I must apologise, I just answered your question on what the colours are for, you will need to supply some lives as well to complete the circuits.

 

terminal 30 on light switch and indicator switch, terminal 15 on headlight switch and terminal 31 ( the left spade on top of the right switch) will require a +12v feed.

 

Brown is a constant +12v, White is ignition switched +12v.

 

you may have a problem with some switches with the washer pump staying on, but there is a simple mod. PM me if required.

Hi so shall i change the relay back to normal factory setup, and then add these lives in? Should i use switched lives or constant? At the moment i have a constant live in 30 and earths in 15 & 31, so ill change these. Will try in the afternoon thanks for your help

Hi tried this but has had no effect. Main beam stays on so i changed realays back and hazards will work but stay on, not repeating, relay sounds constant. Please any advice thanks

are your indicators standard bulbs or led?

Also 2 types of column switches, square hazard switch does not use relays, round (later Type) does

No issues with using relays on early type but a must for later

pretty certain Karmen has a post VG loom, at least three versions, but all very close.

 

there is one relay plate two are fitted with main and dip relays the other has the flasher unit.

 

the loom can work with any of the ford column switches.

 

to confirm loom relays should be wired as below, if not we have a different loom.

 

 

relays dip beam relay 30 blue white OSF head light (main beam) 30 blue white dash main beam warning light 85 white orange headlight switch 56a 86 black earth 87 blue white fusebox main beam relay 30 blue red OSF head light (dip beam) 85 orange black headlight switch 56b 86 black earth 87 blue red fusebox flasher relay 49a green yellow column switch 49 green 31 black earth
