Acdc Tig Welder Recommendations

Hi Everyone,

 

Unfortunatley my dad has moved 200 odd miles away and as such I've lost access to his TIG welder therefore I'm looking to buy one of my own.

 

What ac/dc TIG plant would people recommend to by with a max budget of £800?

 

I'm pretty good at welding, but in relation to TIG I've only ever had experience on my dad's machine......which was an expensive Kemppi machine that I can't afford to buy myself.

 

The machine will primarily be used for aluminium.

 

 

Edit: ideally 200amp and I would want to buy new.

We use boc at work, great service and price good range of tigs on sale in the thurmaston branch

It's more what brand to go for than where to buy it from.....

Talk to boc they will advise you, all there stuff is decent, not diy, the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful

Just had a new 180 ac/dc from Boc. Not even set up yet. You can come play with it and see if its suitable for you. Got a decent deal as well.

The deed is done....after spending the last 2 day welding aluminium on a friends 200amp acdc tig.....Ive gone and bought the same one as his......

I was temped with a £1200 rtech one......but for the amount of tig I'll be doing, I just couldn't justify the expense.........

It doesn't have pulse setting which makes it cheaper than the rtech welders......but to be honest having spent the last 2 days using one you don't need pulse....it's easy enough to control with the pedal.

It still has variable frequency and hf inverter
