Most good motor factors should stock it or at least be able to get it people like demon thieves will rob you blind, probably twice the price that a factor will charge mick

Hi. I got mine from auto silicone hoses. West Yorkshire.

They specialise in hoses that you want.

I got 1x m x 63 mm I'd hose £21.10

63mm stainless hose joiner £6.66.

Look them up on the web or eBay.

They have a catalogue and will provide everything for less than half price of what some sellers call an induction kit.

If like me you are coming through at the side of your rad, I used the steel joiner for that.

You can get any joiner length or bend.

Well worth looking at.

I have a standard 32/36 weber carb with a pancake filter literally squashed under the bonnet of my 1.6 which still is sometimes at the hot side of normal. Is an induction filter in the nose cone likely to improve performance?

Probably not a great deal but side vents will help cure the high temps the hot air produced by the engine in a seven has far fewer routes to get out than even the sierra donor ,bonnet clearance can be corrected in many ways and an inventive approach is some times needed , lower engine fractionaly, different manifolding , mill 1/4"from manifold /carb face , I got a k+n on top of a 38dgas to clear [just ] by using c/s screws to hold the top plate on instead of dome nuts, as to cooling is the main prob ducting around the rad to make sure air goes through the core instead of around it , side and top vents , clear path through nose cone , non restrictive grill ,i could give you many more cures and causes as I think I ran across them all , soldier on! mick

id just cut a hole in the bonnet and have a scoop... much quicker and simpler than ducting and what not imo

plus some side vents opening rearwards will help drag warm air out

I've put side and bonnet vents in. They made a big difference. It starts to get a bit hot after a period of long slow hill climbing. I think the addition of an electric fan will solve the problem once and for all. I was just wondering about the air filter as I imagine the induction kits increase the amount of fresh air available to the carb.

I am on top of my cooling now I think but spotted some lovely shiny stainless steel vents on somebody else's car at a show so am going to fit a couple of those to the side of my bonnet to help get more hot air out. We spend ages trying to get the cooling air in but forget that it has to get out somewhere.

If you type in marine vents on fleabay you will see the ones I mean, they come in several different sizes and they look good.

They are getting far to common now to make cars look individual styles.

A very easy resolution is to fit two spacers under the trailing edge of the bonnet.

This not only lets out all the built up air, but just in case you are driving early misty or cold mornings, it prevents your screen misting better than any heater.

I think if you haven't had a very good feed of cold air to your intake and you put one in you will probably notice the difference in performance, it may not be much in terms of horsepower but you will feel it. Many years ago I put a new stainless exhaust system on a forward control landrover, identical to the rusted out original except that the balance pipe between the two sides was much better formed with a much better bend with no constriction. The difference was immediately noticeable with much better pickup and throttle response.

All these little things add up, a bit better intake with cooler air and better exhaust extraction and a bit less power absorbed by the mechanical fan if you put an electric one in. After all car manufacturers have millions of pounds for r and d to get these things right. That's why it's fun and a great achievement for every little step forward you take.
