I'm under the impression that the fuel tank should be full when presented at the IVA.

I don't know where I got this from, I can't find any reference in the manual, not a problem i will have a full tank when I go for the IVA but just curious.

Also I can't find any reference to needing a fuel gauge, I've got one but again just curious.

Full tank was requested & checked on by our Examiner at Southampton, --- more likely to show any leaks when full. Readings on any instruments not checked -- except speedo which had to be correct or over-reading.

If the car does not have enough weight on the rear axle, the tyres can loose grip on the rollers giving a lock out figure that is to low to get a fair reading on the gauges. Every ounce helps to achieve this.

HGVs must be loaded on there mot's to get a full reading. If the brakes lock out to soon, it is classed a fail for them.
