Just cud it has it does not mean you need to connect it. My pinto dizzy had vac advance but was never connected. Just gives better economy I believe. Others may have different opinion but mine ran fine without.

Yes Chris.

I've been putting things right ever since.

Today is tracing master switch not working day.

Have to take off lower switch panel. To get at it.

I've already got a new switch ready, but after the quality of work carried out, I would not be surprised to find a main cable lose.

 

Edit: oh yes just remembered other tasks for today.

Replace hazard/indicator switch they posted to me.

Fit new stone guards they sent to me.

Still waiting new correctly calibrated fuel guage that is currently reading backwards.

 

Truth is I wish I had done my own dash now.

It was only after reading of your problems, plus the fact mine was in for the accident repairs I asked them to fit one for me.

Apparently Simon did my dash fit.

And the rear lights.

And the column shroud mod to fit.

I know he is very knowledgeable, but bloody hell. 24hrs labour to fit dash?

been out trying to find some fittings to tap into manifold I have managed to get some but I think they will be to big

are you not using the manifold that came with the engine? or are you tapping all four pipes?

yes its your old manifold yes all four have to be tapped

All 4 ok makes sense now cos theres an undrilled take off on the manifold if one would have done it.

that one is for a servo for the advance you need all four for a stable vacum

I got some 8mm Aluminium weld on barb fittings off e-bay for a couple of pounds each. My manifold is Ali as well though. It has made a difference to the running of the engine with the vacuum advance piped up for the first time. Im running R1 carbs on a 2.1 Pinto. The engine is much smoother across the rev range now.
