Longer Shocks

Will fitting longer shocks to the rear of an s7 increase the ride height? My springs are original Sierra ones and seem to be fine, but it sits low at the back and I think it's because my shock mounts are in a different position to the one I compared to.

No.

The springs set the ride height.

Unless (like my old Sierra shocks) they are slightly spring loaded too.

But I never saw another pair. They usually stay wherever they are put when compressed.

Mine always went back to fully extended when off the car.

Hi Duck,

I had same issue with my S7. Bought brand new springs, fitted them never made a bit of difference. Tried various things that didn't work then made some spacers out of nylotron. Made them to fit into the square "box" above the spring, shaped the underside so that the spring sat into the block then fitted another piece of circular nylotron into the centre of the spring to keep it in place. Found out that only needed the blocks to be about 25mm thick to give the ride height and wheel arch clearance required.

PJ.
