Piston Broke

not so sure... crown of piston is perfect.. plugs all look good

wasnt being hammered when it happened

engine was a complete unknown 4 years ago when it went in.. completely bog standard apart from inlet and exhaust (jenveys/ omex )

the bore is most likely recoverable after a hone,

once have done that may have to price up what can be done

I've seen too many pistons knackered by knock i Agree with Nigel it has all the characteristics. Examine the plug from that cylinder using high power magnifying glass or best of all a jewellers loupe. Preignition deposits tiny glass like balls on the ceramic.
