I have bought a rolling 2b chassis with the idea of getting it sand blasted / powered coated and then to build the car up the way I want then swap my new engine over.  This means I can keep my car on the road and enjoy the season.

I was thinking of building Elliot "my son who is 13" a car and wondered what's involved in building a Robin Hood with the donor V5 log book?

If your donor engine number doesn't match the one on the V5 then the V5 won't be any use and you'd have to register it on a Q plate. A 2B isn't a quick or easy car to build but as you've got 4 years to do it, it should be possible. All the info you'll ever need is here on the forum, you just need to be determined and stick with it - actually finishing and getting through IVA is strangely rewarding.
