Any one give advice on a problem with car going ok then just dies and will not start unless it is left over night then it starts first time. It is a pinto with twin 45s and lunenition ignition, i do not want to pull thing apart and renew everything only to find it was something minor that i have over looked. I am open to any advice. Any Hood owners in the North East ( Ashington )Thanks Colin

Have you checked the usual things?

Is the pump pumping up fuel?

Is there a spark at the plugs?

It has to be one of these where the problem lies.

Firstly nice to see Jim is still around a kicking tyres

I had a problem with my Pinto, similar to yours. After a lot of redoing just about everything, I found out it was the return pipe coming out of the carb, fuel was just going straight through for some reason, put it back in, checked it and away you go.
