Hi

Before I have a guess, have you fit the sierra sender unit that dosen`t reach the bottom of the tank or the extended one from robinhood, mine only does about 125 miles on a full tank before running out, but still has about 1 1/2 gallen left in tank, mine is the small robinhood tank.

Is there an independant observer?

I should think there'll be plenty of independant observers having a good chuckle to themselves when I splutter to a halt, probably at the most inopportune moment

Bound to happen isn't it - outside lane of the M6 at 5:00 on a Friday afternoon.

Think I'll stick to the local country lanes once the gauge reads empty.

The level sender came with the guage, from greenguages. And when it reads empty, I can still only get about 20 litres in, which would suggest quite a bit in reserve.

Do it on my patch of the M6 and I'll send free recovery out for you! :D

This is the exact experiment that we keep meaning to do, but I keep chickening out and filling it up   If we fill ours up to the brim it reads full on the guage but after 120 miles its reading empty (The float cant go down any more)

But like yours it will be a pain in the A**e to take the sender out just to bend it a bit so we will probably never bother.

Anyway good luck and I hope you run out somewhere quiet (without cameras  )
