Our sender had the tube Crimped up and was not used!

and also how does this work with the fuel pump as I thought it had to be low down to suck the fuel out of the tank

Confused   Still at least ours seems to work though

i used ford sender with a new guage that didnt have any distructions with it so i connected it all up to a battery and moved the arm up and down to see what i got on the guage all seemed okay but it wouldnt read full,on the sierra sender there is a resistor built into the printed board with a bit of careful soldering i shorted it out and it works a treat.

hope this helps

Careful with shorting out resistors.

These are often there as a safety feature to limit current and sparks.

Having said that there is not normally enough oxygen in a petrol tank to ignite.

Hi Turbo just interested to see whether you got your sender sorted out? I have been looking at some decent gauges (after SVA!) and am a bit worried about how complicated it is to make the electrics work. Hope you got it sorted anyway.

Guy just read the thread and have been laughing out loud!

Bill you can easily put those two words in a sentence as long as you also use the word 'can't'! Sorry Craig only joking, just getting into the spirit of the forum and all!
