  1. ESSEX HURRICANE APPEAL A major Hurricane (Shazza) hit in the early hours of Monday. Epicenter: Basildon, Essex. Victims were seen wandering around aimless muttering "faaackin ell"... The hurricane decimated the area causing approximately £30 worth of damage. Several priceless collections of mementos from the Balearics and Spanish Costa's were damaged beyond repair. Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their giro arrived. Essex FM (County Radio Station) reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered, still trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Basildon. One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith, a 15-year-old mother of 5 said "It was such a shock, my little Chardonnay-Mercedes came running into my bedroom crying. My youngest two Tyler-Morgan and Megan-Storm slept through it all. I was still shaking when I was watching Trisha the next morning." Apparently though, looting, muggings and car crime did carry on as normal. The British Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Sunny Delight to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings, including benefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and Bone China from Poundland. HOW CAN YOU HELP? This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is most sought after, items most needed include: -- Fila or Burberry baseball caps -- Kappa tracksuit tops (his and hers) -- Shell suits (female) -- White sport socks -- Rockport boots -- Any other items usually sold in Primark. Food parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same. Required foodstuffs include: -- Microwave meals -- Tins of baked beans -- Ice cream -- Cans of Colt 45 or Special Brew. 22p buys a biro for filling in the compensation forms £2 buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a family of 9 £5 will pay for a packet of B&H and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected. **Breaking news** Rescue workers found a girl in the rubble smothered in claret - 'Where are you bleeding from?' they asked - "ROMFORD" said the girl, "woss that got to do wiv it?"

    Will This Have Lsd

The 4x4 2.8 should have a 3.62 LSD VIN plate should say U On the diff tag there will be some numbers/letters (look at the top row), EG. 83BG MC 362 Next is the middle code in this case its 'MC' which is an 'OPEN' type diff (NON-LSD) basically ANY diff with 2 or more "A" in the middle code will be an LSD e.g. "AA" or "ADA" any other letters without an "A" in the code IS an open diff. the numbers, 362 which is (simply) 3.62:1 ratio. Info from Nigel. Your really going for it art'n you, new sticky tyres, limited slip diff and if this lot does'nt work is it launch control, traction control and that preformance enhancer in a tin.....Slim fast?
  5. Thank you gents, I don't need a reversing light so i will leave it off and just block up the hole to keep the s**t out.
  6. My gearbox ( Type 9. 5sp) has now had 20 years of dried on oil and dirt removed from it and is ready to go in. However there is no reverse light switch in the box ( just a hole near the lever on the tail) and none that i can see on the sierra loom. So a pic of the switch and the plug on the loom would be good. Do i need reversing lights for the SVA?
  7. As a fellow occupant of Constables ( the painter not the awld bill) beatifull county i must respond. http://www.ukresults.net/misc/grimupnorth.doc

  10. After taking my daughter back to her mums Monday i was zipping through the countryside in Staffordshire going through a little village called Cotton in the Elms when i spied what looked like a red hood, i think with swept wings and a flat back, so monocoque tub. So who's is that then? Can i also remind you that "Cotton in the Elms Welcomes carfull drivers" and the noise from the Hood exhaust would blow the petals off the neat hanging baskets and community flower displays. You naughty Hoody.

  17. When i bought the kit and all the bits that came with it, I registered the Donor as mine on the V5 so i have a new style V5C. Bonus.
  18. I've got a reciept from the previouse owner of the unfinished kit that say's the donor was bought in 1997 and part 3 of the sorn (guidance notes) say's " make a sorn if the licence expired on or after 31st Jan 1998" So i am taking that as read. An interesting point would be as we strip the donor at what time does it become scrapped, or is it a modification in progress???
  19. The engine from the donor is a mess, old pinto so not 205, about every seal and gasket has leaked oil or water and to add to the problems, it's seazed..So can i change the engine on the donor V5? The donor is not on SORN as it was purchased before the regulations ( says you don't need to on the SORN form ) So can i just change the engine number on the V5 or do i need to Sorn it first. Also does it affect the emmisions alowed fitting a newer pinto?
  20. Thanks Stuart, was that just the oil presure or the water as well.
  21. Here we go, i cant seem to get this off my PDA, so... Maximum distance 400mm from outside edge with minimum seperation of 500mm unless car less than 1400mm then minimum seperation 400mm. Maximum high from ground 1500mm Minimum high 350mm. This is from the SVA Draft of march 2004.
  22. I have been trying to fit the original guages that came with the series 3 kit in 1997. The oil presure is ok but i would like to keep the warning light, i know some of you have fitted a Tee piece of some sort, what type and where is a good place to start looking? Now for the water temp guage that i have, its about as thick as your little finger and about 1 1/2 inches long, i tried to fit it to the blanking plug on the right rear of the block but it is to long and the thread looks too coarse, the pinto temp sender is a skinny thing and the probe i have won't even go in the hole. To not fit one of the guages means that i will probably have to change the lot, not something i want to do yet.
  23. For what it's worth. a line ( bit of string) from diff flange to gearbox tail shaft and through to front crankshaft pully will tell you if it is all in a straight line. also you could measure ground to these points to give you a rough guide.
  24. Test 1 30 out of 35 Test 2 33 out of 35. First time i have taken any sort of test since i passed...1974. Think i should buy a copy of the higway code and swot up a bit.
