  1. Hi All, I'm trying to find a suitable washer bottle from the scrappies. A fairly compact shape and not too big. Can any of you recommend what you used yourself (pics too would help). Many Thanks...

    Top Seatbelt Nuts

Can anyone confirm whether or not that these nuts need to be welded in position?
  4. OK, I tried this set-up this morning - No Joy. Not a flicker. Does anyone know how I can confirm that the voltage regulator is OK? I suspect this because I can't seem to get the instrument lights to iluminate either and I think these go through the regulator too? Jeff, I got the sender new from GMS Capri Spares when I went to the Newark Show. I asked for one for Capri Clocks so it should be OK. You can contact them on 0191 3771718, gmscaprispares.co.uk or info@gmscaprispares.co.uk
  5. Hi Pete, How about a coating of WD40 or something similar. Failing that, keep it in the house - if your allowed
  6. Thanks Nigel, So I'm on the right track. I presume you mean the voltage regulator on the back of the actual clock set and not the forerunner to the alternator
  7. Hi Andy, Thanks for this. By sheer fluke, I think I have one of these somewhere. Do you just use the seal on it's own - No additional gunge?
  8. Hi All, The rubber seal for my new Fuel Sender drops straight through the opening into the tank :gdit: Does anyone know where I can get a larger seal from and do I need to use any additional sealant?
  9. Hi All, I've bought a new Fuel Sender as I didn't have the donor one and I have some Capri Clocks. Before I bolt the sender into the tank, I want to check that it all works OK and the gauge reads correctly (Empty to Full). My thinking is that I power up the clocks with Pos & Neg, clamp the sender to earth and then run the sender wire to the appropriate terminal on the clockset. Sounds straightforward, but before I try this though, is there anyone out there who thinks I've got this wrong? Obviously, as this is my first venture into the electrics for this car, I'd hate to blow anything up on my first attempt.
  10. Hi All, Thanks for your replies - Order in with Screwfix for all sorts of bits & bobs (I had to order 50 countersunk screws though - so I shoud have plenty now eh? )
  11. Hi Chris, You should have a PM. Thanks
  12. Hi Chris, Ahhh Screfix Direct - How could I forget!!! Glad you enjoyed the BBQ - Same time next year eh? I may have nearly built my car by then!
  13. The Scrapy won't let me dig about under his cars. :boohoo: He obviously cares for my safety. I can get a circlip from my local Frord dealer but he'll only sell me bolts if I buy a bag of ten. :boohoo: I'm Grizzly and I'm mean when it comes to things like this.

    Rs Centre Caps

If Dave can't help, I may have one or two.
  15. Hi All, I need a few countersunk screws for the subframe I'm making for my fuel tank. Can anyone recommend a supplier?
  16. Hi Warren, That should do fine. - Let me know how much you want for it inc P+P and I'll send you a cheque. PM your address. Many Thanks... Steve.

    Air Filter

OK, it's a 32/36 DGAV. The filter that's on now is 65mm high. When I placed the bonnet on, it was the only thing that touched. Will dropping the filter height by 20mm make all the difference? I've heard that they may need to be cut down even more??
  18. Hi Warren, How much have you got??

    Air Filter

Hi All, I need a slim Air Filter for my Webber Twin Choke (2L Pinto). The trouble is, that's all I know it as. I'd prefer one of the foam type ones, again though, it's got to be slim. The Europa people need to know what model the carb is. Does anyone know how I can identify it? I can supply some photos this evening.
  20. OK - Fair point. I see that CBS sell it in 18" lengths (too much for what I need) so I thought that someone may have bought some and then had some left over. I see now that Europa sell it by the inch, so I'll probaly resort to this. Thanks!!!
  21. Yes Bill, I did look at your website - I just wondered if anyone had a bit left over kicking around in their garage?

    Grp For Sale

Hi All, Judging by what it's going to cost to get my GRP sprayed, I'm thinking of buying a new set in the colour I want instead. The following items are therefore up for sale: 1 x Nose Cone (26") £40 1 Pair Rear Wings £35 1 Pair Front Cycle Wings (8") £45 All in Red and unfitted. I'd prefer to sell the lot in one go (price negotiable) but will split if required. Obviously, these wouldn't be too easy to post, so collection (or meet half way if not too far) would probably be best. I live in Knaresborough (North Yorkshire)
  23. Hi All, Now I just know that from what I've heard so far, the metal fuel filler pipe will never align up nicely into the tank. I was wondering if anyone had any suitable spare hose lying around that would help?
  24. Hi Dave, I've bought some Capri Clocks for mine. I'm a way of fitting them yet but I have learnt that you may need to shave some of the lower corners outer casing away so that they'll squeeze in.
  25. OK - Thanks Guys, Looks like I'll be off to the scrappies again - with a shovel!!!! Hi Ho!
