  1. Probably a bit late as im already out in it but it should be ok to drive gently and not far?
  2. Motojohn has originals so will measure them and see if I can get slightly taller, the ones longboader suggested have no size on description so maybe have to call them for size.

Mate I play football with has had one for about 10yrs and loves it, he runs a car garage and said its been the best daily runabout hes had in a long time
  4. Thanks longboarder, bit pricey for a rubber bobbin have found some online for about £5 just need to get size, but motojohn has a couple from original super spec built kit so will give them a try or see what size they are
  5. Thats an idea wanderer if I cant source anything, this will explain why my remote gear linkage is banging on the tubular frame
  6. Thanks John, those look a bit small, I assume they do different sizes, will do a bit of interwebbing!!
  7. Thanks florian, any idea what i need and where to get them
  8. Hi Please see the picture and tell me if this looks right, I have a MT75 gearbox and the rear doesn't look to be fitted to anything, there are 2 rubber stops bolted to the mounting bracket from underneath car but they're not fixed to gearbox there is a gap i can get my fingers in and looking from above i can see the nut on top of gearbox and there is nothing in between, I take it they should be connected together. I cant see or feel that the bolts have sheared so if any Super Spec owners can take a pic of their rear mounts hat would be great.
  9. Mines close atm so just trying to plan ahead, only paid £50 for all 4 wheels so not much lost if I can't fit them and can easily shift them on if no good
  10. Yeah was going to drop from 205 to 195 maybe 190 but ET is different so that changes things as well
  11. Does anyone know how to adjust these for larger wheels, looking to go from 15" to 16" and rear of wheels look close to the cycle wing brackets. Is it a case of bending them?
  12. My last 3 company cars have had no spare anyway only a compressor and a bottle of gunk. But when you have a first sized hole in the sidewall no amount of gunk is gonna fill it
  13. Got breakdown cover , did your kits come with wheel carrier removed or did you build it like that or remove it yourselves I sort of like the look but my new alloys wont match and different size
  14. Hi Do people run with the spare wheel on tha back of their cars? Ive just got my hands on some 16" alloys but only 4 of them so looking to remove the spare wheel carrier on the back, is it a case of just chopping the tubes underneath the rear of the car?
  15. I'm not a plumber but what have yougot to loose. I used this stuff when I worked for Sky putting up dishes and we used it to waterproof the connections on the dish. When wrapping it around make sure you stretch it as thats how it stick together
  16. I'm running with 205/50/15 Yokohama and give me good grip (haven't been out to much in the wet though) but have heard that 195's give a better ride
  17. Hi motojohn I'm more than happy to bring it to you (any chance for a blat) and I can see whats under the skin of mine. You can send me a pm with yr address and we can arrange a meet.
  18. Your more than welcome to look at mine. I didn't build it but have the build dvds if you want to have a look at them, or I can take a jolly out to see you. If I come and look at yours them it will give me some idea of what it looks like under the skin which I can't see on mine without major surgery Where abouts in Devon are you?
  19. Thought whole point of the super spec was it came as a complete package with engine, gearbox etc already installed and the car pretty much assembled
  20. Engine doesn't look like the original rover
  21. Thanks alan, will look into it
  22. Ok had mechanic look at the weld which is still intact but when moving the steering wheel you can see the plate the steering rack is mounted to flex a bit. Has anyone strenthened the plate where a super spec rack mounts to? If so how and with what
  23. Thanks all again. Alan I have a feeling my thermostatic switch may not work hence the builder wiring in a physical switch. On a normal day then mines about the same as yours and when I turn fan on it drops to about where it should be
  24. Thanks brumster will let you know once the garage has had a look, thought they would be like hens teeth or be mega expensive, the cars are becoming expensive now!!
  25. Good ideas everyone, like the one about propping rear of bonnet a bit, I have seen the side vents but it scares the s**t out of me to cut my nice titanium bonnet!! Were the vents easy to fit Alan? I think the fan does come on by itself Alan but I've never had the car that hot on the driveway to check, maybe after next run out will leave it running when i get home and check, I just flick fan switch when sat in traffic for any length of time
