  1. Hi Tim,

I've found one of my old DVD's (copied from the VHS tape). It's a bit grainy, but it shows how to form the panel and may compliment Ken's photos.

If you PM me your address, i'll pop it in the post, or alternatively i'll be passing Duxford next Friday, we can meet outside the Museum.

    Let me know either way.

    Cheers

    Al

  2. In case anyone is planning a trip via the M20 this week-end, be advised part of it is being closed all week-end to remove the remaining part of the footbridge that was hit last week-end.

The closure is between junctions 2-4 in both directions, starting 8pm tomorrow (Friday).

The M26 is also closed for the duration.

    Just a heads up

For some reason I can't insert the link........

  3. Hi Al,

As already suggested, go for the best ones you can afford. I have the circular Hella rear LED's including fog & reverse mounted in 'pods', I am reliably informed that there is no problem seeing them in bright sunlight.

These are almost perpendicular to the road, (a minor deflection from the horizontal), but they have passed IVA & 2 MOT's with them.

There was a little fettling of the pods to get the angle right, but nothing that was too challenging.

As for vibration (which I don't think is an issue anyway), to counter this (and cover imperfections in the fettling, use thin rubber edge trim, it covers all sins!!

With the Superspec, I suspect you still have the original instrument cluster with integral indicator repeaters & are still running standard front & side indicators, so to simplify things you can get combined bulb/LED indicator relays from E-Bay for a few quid. Easier than fitting in line resistors as a straight swap of relays & job done!

If you want to go down the resistor route however, I've a pair of unused resistors you are welcome to FOC - drop me a pm if interested.

I'll post some pics of my rear end  when I can find them.

    Cheers

    Al

  4. Anyone qualifies for membership - it's more a state of mind.

For young Master Stanley, sign him up now - think of the education he'll receive!!

Thankfully we didn't see this pic before Bob & Mo's BBQ, otherwise they may have lost a wheelie bin or 2 for their Grandchildren's car!!

  5. As all the above, but also consider using split convoluted hose to route the wiring in.

Gives protection to cable abrasion (you have to consider & prevent this for IVA).

Easier to get clips to suit the size.

Looks better (IMO) than a bare loom

  6. Dan, for pump pre filter the cheapest option is the clear plastic ones with the 8mm bore.

I've used these with no problems. I have also fitted dry break petrol compliant connectors between the tank and filter - really makes it easy for changing the filter.

As Nigel said, 12mm inlet to the pump with an 8mm outlet.

Am using a Sytec 3 bar 270lph (ish) Bosch 044 type.

Will change to the Bosch at some pint as pump is getting a bit noisy

Oops, forgot to add, standard Ford Zetec injectors & regulator (on the injector rail return side), single throttle body & GBS inlet plenum

  7. Think you're right Ken, but the Beeb will give it as much a chance as possible (spending loads of licence payers money) because it's a revenue generator - probably their best

Everything has an end point though

  8. Sorry, just didn't like the new TG presenters

    Will it improve??

It probably has one more series to get the spark back as well as the viewing figures
