well done - another on the road any day soon when I went to the dvla the guy offered to phone me as soon as the docs were done to save the delay of them posting them ( and gave me a good reg too! )

I used the SVA compliant one from SVC £8 + p&p

I used Sikaflex 221 - very good

Used to live / work in Kuwait / Saudi - Looks like normal driving to me !!

Not a bad list - should be on the road within the week and - YES DRIVE IT there. I have always been told ' 2 visible threads' - this is to ensure the 'nyloc' part is visibly doing its job. The strength of it is calculated as being held by 1.5 threads ( normally only 1.5 threads fully loaded in contact within the nut ). Good luck for next time ! I only needed a few hours notice for a retest.

I just cut a layer of foam, covered it it a scrap of leaterette and wound a bit of insulating tape to keep it in place - took all of 5 minutes and SVA were happy with it I had used the socket button screws and suspect they would have been happy enough without the padding - just didn't want to risk it

One of the 'new' inner tie bars on my 2B was supplied defective - bought a sierra one - didn't fit. They seem to be cut down and tapped one off some other car. I was lucky enough to have a couple of old steering racks lying in the garage and made one. Would like to know where they originated from in case I ever need a replacement.

car emissions are on the engine age ( not when car registered ) think there is a link on the NW hoodies web site to relate engine no. to year etc

Normally I'd expect about 13.8 V could be on its way out...

Mine was almost but not quite at rock solid point without servo but mince once engine running. The mounting for the clutch / brake pedals has indents for pedal travel - I made the mistake of covering these............... Check the master cylinder first though

Always darkest before the dawn - been there - fed up - why did I ever start? Now its on the road it was worth every pint of blood I spilt on the garage floor. Keep going - it is really worth it! Think you're right re the psychology bit - we all must be a wee bit mad!
