  1. Looking for a nice pair of seats to replace my tatty ones, similar to the Intatrim Odyssey(nice & slim).

Thought I would try here before the usual mags etc.

  2. Assuming you mean the camber wedges then yes you do. Though the holes will need filing out if they are the same as the ones I have. The disk back end needs a larger hole than the drum one.

Excellent, that what I thought but did not want to do do any unnecessary work, it just I will feel better with them now that they are obviously needed.........Thanks again.

  3. I there anyone out there who may be able to guide me, I am just in the middle of swapping my rear beam and diff etc from Drum to Discs with LSD.

My question is do I still require the taper plates from my old beam to be fitted to the transplanted beam, the transplanted beam comes from a 1990 Sierra 4x4?

  4. Hi the whole beam, shafts etc are all in excellent condition. The build on this was only completed in 2005 and the builder did spent a great deal of attention to detail. Even the hand-brake cable is new.

This weekend is possible, but only sunday afternoon, I just got it up on stands ready for dropping the beam onto the floor, I don't this will done by sunday though. Send me a pm to arrange

  5. I was never happy with my car after i built it as i did it to get it through the sva for the summer. Whilst my engine is in the workshop on a stand i have decided to tidy up the engine bay itself, the wiring is a mess and the chassis has started to rust in places. Good job my girlfriend loves these kind of jobs and has offered to start rubbing it down and repainting it for me! Do any of you have any pictures of your nice shiny engine bays i could use for inspiration?

  6. Hi Greenie,

Are the all the rubber boots on either end of the driveshafts in good order?

If so I would be interested, I am in Blackburn.

Would it be possible to view sometime this weekend?

    Cheers

  7. Hi I am well ahead of my winter project of upgrading my rear suspension on my 2b to LSD & Discs, hopefully I will be completing the swap on the wekk between Xmas and the New Year (hangover provailing), so if anyone is interested in purchasing a complete rear beam from a Sierra (F) which incudes Diff, drive shafts, drums, shocks & springs, brake pipes & hoses, in other words the Whole kit & caboddle, send a pm, no resonable refused but buyer must collect.

  8. Just got the new cards so we are starting to send out the gold cards and stickers, hope we have enough stamps to get the first 189 out.

Tim I joined in Sept/Oct do I need to do it again for 2007?

  9. i have fitted a complete rear end from a saffire with discs to an s7the outer arms of the dedeion setup are slightly wider then sierra but if you cut the end plate off and re plate it it fits

    regards graham

Please explain further what you mean by end plate, I have aquired, just today a complete rear axle with discs, calipers the lot, from a 1990 2.9 Cosworth. Will it fit?

  10. I have been looking for a car dust cover for sometime with no joy, i am currently using old bed sheets but its not ideal. Does anyone know where i can find a half decent car cover to stop my kitcar getting dusty and more importantly stop the damn flys treating it as taget practise!!!!

I got mine from Car Mania, don't know if you have round near you, they come in 3 sizes I went for small and it great.....paid around 19dabs

  11. Hi

The rear swing arms that fit onto the hoop bar thingy that holds the diff to the rear bushes, if you get some from an xr4x4 or similar, the arms with hubs, will have the disk brakes fitted to it; and will fit onto your car. The only problems will be with the driveshafts and I am not sure how you will get around this, as the standard ones are not the same as the LSD ones. I have fitted the LSD setup and it works well, never had the origonal so have nothing to compare it to.

    Hope this helps

This sounds the easiest option, you got me thinking twice about the LSD, best get out amongst the scrap yard world........Cheers

  12. Hi anyone out here who maybe able to help, I want to upgrade the rear drums of my 2b to discs, I was going to go for the full rear thing and fit an LSD but I find it more fun with what I have (slides great). I just want to fit disc brakes. Any ideas?

  14. Hi

Try one of the no win no fee companys and see if they will take up your case.

If they say yes :D that tells me it is worth YOU taking them to court , if they say no :( then leave it and put it down to not seeing the pot hole :p

    Tank ;)

Please be very careful with "NO WIN NO FEE" , if you don't win you may become liable for the VAT incurred.

I am a Fleet Manger of 450 cars and the same happen to one of our company cars, it struck a hole in the highway and could not claim a penny. It may bounce back as not been vigilant. GOOD LUCK.

  15. I have to start my laptop with the ECU plugged in for some reason, but connects OK then through the COM1 port. Is the ECU on? (i.e. ignition on).

    Andy

If your starting your lap top up with ECU plugged in you must on a plug & play system? Apparently I have an interface issue which hopefully will be sorted by weekend then hold onto your hats! Any idea where I can get hold of some maps for a 1.8 Zetec running on R1 Bikes carbs?

There are a few settings you have to set up = speed, stop bit, etc

The manual for the megajolt should tell you how to set up the com port - are you sure the serial port on the laptop is com1 ?

Manual? What manual never got one when I bought the car, love to have one, any idea where I can get hold of such a manual?

  16. Wanted New/Old RHSC Nosecone badge in vinyl, the one with the union jack on it.

and wheel badges if anyone has them.

I have just sent my 2b into the paintshop to have a complete make-over and ordered mine off E.Bay on Classic cars badges and asked a few questions. Good luck.

  17. I've got an Emerald ECU and love playing around with the settings to see what it does. As reviously mentioned, plug in, save your map (and back it up on CD or similar) and play around. Its addictive.

    Andy

Went for the plug-in today and to my great disappointment I acn not get the lap top to talk to the system, thinking it may be my lap top I tried my business one (SHH don't tell the boss) and yet again failed to connect? It comes up with a PORT COM 1 error, any ideas?

  18. Hi Pete,

i have a Megasquirt but have yet to fit and play with it, but im sure its quite easy once you know the basics, if you save the current map, then even if you do cock it up, it should be easy enough to re enter the original so no problems, in fact i quite like the idea of trying it on yours first ;)

I see you quite near, but admiting to being a GOBBIN !!!!! :D

    Mitch

    Thanks Mitch,

Yes deffinately a GOBBIN in more ways than one, must get together sometime hopefully soon, I admire your confidence, I will give it a go tomorrow.

    Thanks Pete

  19. Well hello there, is there anyone out there in this mad world who can help me understand and use the Megajolt Lite Jr ignition system. I have just recently purchaseda 2b with system on it and being of sound mind and body I am bit wary of pluging my lap top into it, just in case it prevents the car from running. I would really appreciate it if someone can put my mind at ease, I am keen to experiment with it but don't want to delve into it wothout some back ground. HELP!

  20. Can any one help me before I sell this kit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been trying for 4 weeks to get my zetec 2 .0 ltr with a type 9 box into a super spec 05 kit. I have had a new mounting plate added to the chassis temporary, had the sump lowered, but when the engine is in position the bonnet is 1 inch above the chassis with the bonnet resting on the cam belt plastic mould at the front of the engine. Also the sump is just touching the cross member and when the manifold is offer up it is way out as well. The pipes are running out above the top chassis tube through the bonnet.

I have been in contact with a member on rhocar that has fitted a zetec in a 2B who has been helping me.

Has any one else got any idea what to do next, I have been in contact with Richard at Robin Hood who suggest that I can lower the bottom chassis member but I do not have the tools/ welding gear or the skills to do that type of work.

I live in surrey and would appreciate some help or a visit from some one to make sure what I have done so far is correct

I have photos so I can email to any one

    :(

    Stephen w

I don't know if these will help?
