Is this a follow up to an earlier thread of getting 7 in a 7? Must have creased the suits a bit!

Is this what old rock and rollers do now, play with kit cars?
I have a Hohner acoustic and an awful Rockwood strat copy.
Any drummers out there?

Dredd I don't know if this is goig to help or not but seering 'welght' is normally due to the geometry involved, castor, king pin angle, wheel offset etc. as well as tyre pressures. Adjusting the coil tension on your Zeemerides will stiffen or soften the front end and adjust the ride height but not have any effect on the steering weight. Bump steer is caused by the steering rack being in the wrong place, look from the front of the car and the whole of the steering rack should be in a straight line, not with the rack arms pointing upwards or downwards. If they are not level as the suspension moves up they effectively get shorter (or longer) so turning the the hub.

Docter, if the mini ones are wired correctly they will return to the parked position when you turn them off. I am sure the wiring diagram is on here somewhere.

Calling on the vast wealth of experience out there, does anyone know the best way to refit the pull cord rewind spring on a little Ervinrude after you have undone it? It was very keen to get out but not to go back!

Nigel, good luck they won't be cheap at Fords, I had to by a complete set of locks when I replaced the one on my Sierra.

Perhaps you also get a sofa and a poof?

Whatever feels right! I use 18 fronts and 22 rears. If you have the original front springs 170 lbs/in you may want to go to 16.

I remember someone using a Transit cable and taking it right to the front of the engine and then back in a giant U shape, is that a possibility?

Thanks for the replies chaps, I will start getting some made up and let you know when they are ready.

ps. Gordon, I assume you have the cosworth rear end on your car? I think you will find that the trailing arms give less negative camber than the standard ones as the car was designed to sit lower.

At least he went to the Northampton meet this month Chris! Glad to see you back on line John, see you at the next meeting.

Just picked up my new Mondeo TDCi 2.0l duratorq Stage IV 130ps 6 speed (company car) today. Very quick indeed and drives very well.
Dredd, not quite what one of sales guys thinks, mind you he has always had petrol engines. Says the power is very limited to 2-3K fairly dead either side of that, I guess thats why they have put a 6 speed box in it.

Sounds odd having 2 wires from the coil, normally they would have a 12v feed, earth, and one feed from the negative side of the coil which does the revs bit.

Richard are you sure it is the tappets making the noise, could it be something else?
The belt cover, alternator, etc. the crank case vent valve can click away quite a lot too, that sounds noisier at tick over assuming you have the std. inlet manifold set up.
