I too have been fooled with a 16gb mini ad card. Small print said 4 to 16 gb. When I tested it it came out as 4. So I thought if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me so I complained and said it only had 3gb and I got a refund they didn't want the card back!.

I'm looking forwards to a trip with your thorough bred cars built on the edge of tolerance to maximize performance and handling. I myself have to wrestle with the choice of taking one or two camping chairs to go with the picnic basket and plastic backed tartan rug.

The sender in the block is a single wire to the gauge it earths through the block so avoid ptfe tape. The pinto injection also has a seperate two wire ect engine coolant temperature sensor that goes to the ecu. The ect is located in the middle of the injection manifold the sensor sits in the coolant going from the head to water pump via the heater if you have one.

This is my favourite
Caller "Our records show that you could be owed up to £3,000 in missold PPI have you ever paid PPI?
Me "Have you had an accident in the last three years that wasn't your fault, you could be owed £3,000 in compensation."

There's also talk of UK citizens living in the EU being kicked out.
If thats the case, surely we can kick out all the "EU legal" immigrants too?
At one fell swoop, enough school places, houses, NHS beds, reduction in our benefits bill....etc.
I've never heard of any French or Spanish pensioners populating our sunny shores that we can exchange for ours when they come back.
However I think we might miss the BMW executives, the EDF executives and the Santander executives when they leave (with their investment and jobs).

Two cheap ideas
1. I use MP3 cds you can get 6 to 8 albums on one cd most cd players (especially if they have bluetooth will play them).
2. An old smart phone, all my old android phones will work without the sims, it will have a music player and bluetooth.

There are loads of regulations concerning DRL's such as spacing and distance from other lights and what they must and must not do when they and other lights are switched on.
Best consider as a mod for after IVA and then refer to them as a auxiliary or work light.
I'm just about to fit a pair of puddle lights to the front of the MX5 so sick of standing in a puddle (not oil or coolant) that collects in front of the car!

Great job Paul I'll have one too.
-
When I I took the MX5 to Roddisons he said he did a lot of kit cars too.
He also said corner weighting took hours and was very involved and only really useful for the track.

One place I've always wanted to go is john o groats, just to get the selfie by the sign. Seems a shame to be that close and not go. Was thinking day 4 before the drive back to Fort William, anyone up for it?
As you know, so do I but its a very long day 6 hours 55 mins with no stops. I think its a decision I'd like to make the night before to see how its gone, what the weather is like and how tired I feel. But with everything in favour I'd be up for it.

The DVLA web site appears to have been updated since I last looked and there is now a clear distinction between kit-built vehicles (new registration) and kit-converted vehicles (age related plate).
If you buy the deluxe kit from GBS (for example) and source all parts from them (the manufacturer) then you can get a new registration.
The more traditional route of basic kit and single donor puts you in line for an age related plate.
https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/kitbuilt-vehicles
Normally when a government department makes things appear clearer they have actually made things stricter so I can well believe that a second hand steering column will stop you getting an age related plate, although I know of no examples of it happening.
The answer is that if you want a new car in terms of registration number then buy from the manufacturer (in this case GBS).
Out of pure devilment it occurred to me that Kit Spares may be a separate legal entity from GBS and not therefore technically the Manufacturer however I have checked and it (Kit Spares) is a trading style of GBS so all is good.

No help re odometer but interesting/worrying for technophiles/technophobes.
I have an android phone with location settings turned on.
When i log on to google chrome with my google account and search for location history I get a google map which shows where I (my phone) has been every day.
Not exact routes and no mileage but length of journey time and stops and it even guesses mode of transport (Cycling! yeah right)

If I can get the all clear from work looks like I'll be venturing up as well...hopefully not a one way journey this time lol...hopefully some spaces left at the hotels
Great stuff Terry and don't worry I'll have an MX5 engine and some spanners with me (so I'll just nick the supercharger)
