Preeday, the adjuster arm was was already bent like that.

I use a VDO tacho which is fed with +12v, earth and the signal comes from pin 11 on the EDIS plug.

I have the same on the front of my Series 3.
I have replaced the bushes several times over the last 17 years as they never last long, the shocks still work OK though. I have just bought some of these on ebay to try:

The listing states location as Hong Kong but they were actually posted in the UK.

It is an S7, the Series 3 and 3A have a wider body that covers the ends of the rear suspension beam, yours has covers:
I have a pdf copy of the S7 build manual which might help you, there are some images of the front suspension. PM me with your e-mail address and I will send you a copy, it is 16MB in size.

How about fitting an adjustable thermostat instead of replacing the fixed temp one.
